if you got the cash, get the Al, if money's a bit tight get the steel one.

Those aluminum drive shafts are good up to about I think 450hp. If your hp target is below that, and you can afford it, then definitely do it. Don't forget the aluminum flywheel either.... that is if you can afford it.

I think they'll do quite a bit more than 450 if balanced properly and assembled with quality parts. Do not get the aluminum flywheel, when they shatter, you'll understand why. Get chromoly flywheels. The parts you CAN get made of aluminum are the pullies.

How much lighter is the chromoly flywheel vs stock s15 sr20det?

Appreciate the help guys. Based on the polls looks like I'm going with the aluminum, seeing as how I don't have a desire to drift. Reason being I don't have the b8llz to drift my 18x9 blitz 03 rims because of the 15mm spacers I had to install to clear my suspension and 300zx brakes.

depends on the folks making the flywheel. iirc I've seem some flywheels ~10lbs instead of the 20lbs+ for stock.

did you get hubcentric wheel spacers or did you get some cheapo pos for spacers?

if youve got the money and wanna be a baller, get a carbon fiber driveshaft. weighs less than alum and steel, and if you happen to break it, it wont cause any damage except to itself.

You can get ichiba hubcentric spacers for not too bad. Check out the advertisers specials. You'll see em.

I bought my spacers from a dude named Fred Goeski in So. Cal. They're awesome parts but very pricey.
