Alright........I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!

I've had this 300 for 2 years now and I still can't figure out why my damn low beams don't work!!!!!!

I've replaced the bulbs the relays, fuses...........everything but the switch itself.

All of my lights work normally......except the low beams. I have corner lights, pop-ups always work properly, tail lights, high beams etc. I just can't figure it out.

Would all of the corner lights, highs, pop-ups etc all work if the switch was out???

What else could make all that work but not the low beams?

Also.........How do you fix flickering dash lights? They only work when they feel like it.

Also......... My brake lights wig me out......the tail lights work, they just don't come on when you hit the brakes anymore. lol If you turn on the headlights they come on as normal, but they don't change when you hit the brakes. And if the lights are off, then they don't come on at all.

Thanks for the help.

well if the tail lights are cutting out when you brake then you have a broken ground somewhere, I don't have any esy answers, unless AZ bum knows of this happening on a Z31 I'd look at the sontrol stalk (interchanged with a number of nissan models and at last check from the dealer they were pretty decent) other than that it's a lot of painstaking troubleshooting

Well, it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you might want to replace the switch at this point....

Haha........No you missed the point. I'm saying that all the corner lights, and high beams and tail lights still work, so how could the switch be bad. It must be a relay or bad wire or something I haven't discovered.

the headlights are one click further and the highbeams are a pull to turn on, it could very well be your switch stalk, they are pretty cheap from the dealer adn interchange with a lot of other nissan models at the junkyard and it's really nto as hard as you think to remove

If you open up the switch, you'll see there are actually 5 different pins and contact plates. One is for the corner/marker lights. One is for driver low beam. One is for passenger low beam. One is for driver high beam. One is for passenger high beam.

Again: Replace the switch.

Ok. The switch is $80 bucks everywhere and more at the dealer. Also I would have to remove the steering wheel to replace it.

How do you remove the wheel??

Yeah. They aren't cheap. Sucks. You can try cleaning the contacts before you buy a new one. But in my experience, this is only a temporary solution and you'll end up doing it again in a couple months.

Yes. You would.

I have a problem with my brake lights as well. they come on when i plug the connecter in the back in but they stay that way and dont get any brighter or dimmer. I was just wondering if you had figured out how to fix that.

as I recall there is a ground that comes off the harness and anchors to the floor under all the filler in the hatch area, the crimped end gets funky, put a fresh terminal on it and sand the area where it bolts down

I have a 1984 300zx and high beams work fine, low beam - passenger side doesn't work, but driver side does. Three places kept telling me I needed the bulb replaced & didn't fix the problem. Finally after reading posts on this website, my son (works with laser technology) took apart the steering wheel (5 minutes) and cleaned the 5 pins of the light switch (1/2 hr) and voila it all works now :-) THANK YOU SO MUCH.
