Lights flicker on bumpy roads

My coupe has the stock pop-up lights, and when they are engaged and I'm driving on a bumpy road the lights flicker like mad. I was thinking of checking the connections in the day time but was wondering if anyone else had experienced problems like this and what they had done to fix it.

yarrrrye lights are bouncing up and down.i seen it on all s13s. when they drive behind me, they annoy the hell out of me.

Annoys the hell out of me too, and I'm behind the wheel of the S13 :P

If what you speak is true then I take it this is a common problem.

flickering as in going on/off or just shaking?? cuz mine shake...

only thing that i could think of is the same thing that happens to a lightbulb when you smack it. It flickers.

Unlike a headlight you can replace the bulbs its more stable.

They are probably bouncing up and down. If you remove the samll piece of trim behind the lights located just under the hood you can get to this little rubber stop with a philips screw driver. Turn it counter clockwise a little bit (to raise it up). Then when the lights are deployed they will rest on the stop sooner tensioning the whole unit. At least thats what I did and it worked great, lights are rock solid even over the worst back roads. Anyway, there are a couple of these little rubber screw stops in the pop up system, but the only one you need to be concerned with is the one the lights engage when they are up. Hope this helps.
