Hi, I searched for the lightest s13 but couldnt find detailed descriptions... I looked on a Australian fourm but i've only found People claiming they have heard of a 2200-2300 lbs s13. So my Question is do "you" have a car that weighs less then 2500 wet and what modifications have you done to your chassis? I would like to see what is out there. Please no guessing- scaled cars only.

thanks you Merci

Im new to Nissans and s13

many people have gotten their S13's under 2500 easily. Usually thay have take off large pieces of fatory metal, run all carbon or FRP bodypanels, lexan windows, no interior, light race seats, no AC, no PS, AL driveshaft, short exhaust, aftermarket chassis wiring, etc. Basically they are full race cars, or just guys who have taken every last little thing out of their car to egt it light and not safe.

My car would be in the very light relm if i replaced my body panels and windows, everythign else has been removed, lightened, replaced, cut off, etc. the DSG race car is about 2100 wet i think, but thats is missing lots of front metal, half teh rear end, full rollcage, etc....

yeah DSG car was like 1926 dry, hovers around 2100 wet

he cut the trunk floor out and runs his radiator back there, front bumper intercooler/oil cooler/splitter support setup built from scratch, lots of room since theres no radiator...etc etc

ive seen the car in person and it really is pretty crazy, the weight isnt the only part he went nuts on, its got itb's, anti-lag, had a hand built twin scroll exhaust mani but he sold that, bunch of other stuff

thats basically all it is. not many people actually do anything to lighten their cars besides removing stock pieces, A/C, PS insulation, etc...once you remove the entire interior and all the useless functions you dont require then the car gets sort of light, but it looks like poo.

the DSG car does have a full cage, but they have removed 1/3 of the stock chassis. which is not something most people on here would do. I dont think most people should really worry about going as light as possible if they DD, it becomes annoying, irritating on the eyes, and just not a good idea.

gut the trunk, maybe a few aft panels from inside, and the a/C....but dont start cutting pieces off the car and buying all the CF pieces in the world if you dont legitimately race. bragging rights dont get you anything in this world anymore...

Mine weighs 2590. All I did was take out the Sound proofing, carpet fire wall mat and installed a carbon fiber hood. Lighter drive train components help too.

A local guy I know did a pretty good job documenting his weight reduction process. There's a link at the bottom of his post with an excel spreadsheet of stuff he's removed/added and their weights in pounds. While it might not be the lightest s13 out there, it is still significantly lighter than stock.

I'm getting the Time Attack car corner weighted next weekend so I'll have some numbers for you. I'm guessing 2300-2400 wet with driver, but that's a completly uneducated guess.
