Post

I am looking to buy some new or used rims for my 95 240sx (2JZ-GTE). But this time I want the lightest ones out there, like the Weld Prostars or Racestars. Any input would help make my decision a little easier. Or if you have other suggestions please let me know.

Also what size should I go? I want maximum tread to the ground for the street. I almost lost control taking down a ZO6 this past Saturday night. I went sideways in 4th (very scary) so I need that grip to get me down that street.

Any input will help guys!

Thanks :dblthumb:

I've always used 15's or 16's in terms of diameter for drag racing tires. More sidewall flex for hard launches. I currently run 8.5" wide slicks or 10" radials (255's). The radials could definitely be a bit wider though. So I would suggest at least a 9" wide wheel. I know a 15x10 prostar is about 14 lbs, which would be fairly hard to beat. Most japanese wheels (like Volks which are uber light) don't come wide enough in 15"/16" diameters. You typically need to go 17" to get a 9 or 10" wide wheel. They might have some though, so they would be worth a look. They are $$$$ though.
