need opinons i bought a fidanza flywheel today and stage 3 clutch for my ka-t i already have a unorthodox crank pulley on it and i was told today i had a chance of twisting my crank has anyone ever heard of this happening on a ka motor or is this mis- information thanks for your input

You will have increased torsional vibrations due to removing the harmonic damper(crank pulley). Basically, the crankshaft has a natural frequency just like a tuning fork. When you are around that RPM, the crank will vibrate just like striking a tuning fork. This vibration shows up as an increased amount of twisting of the crank at that specific RPM and falling off rapidly on either side. The shorter crankshaft of an inline 4 is pretty strong and has a very high natural frequency, so it isn't too much of a concern.

The short verison is that with a forged crank on an inline 4 motor you don't have anything to worry about.

To explain it in any further detail you'd need at least some background with Dynamic Systems - so that's the short of it.
