Drive it easier. Tune up your car.

Personally I'd never sacrifice my luxary or comfort in my car for milage/speed/weight loss etc.

AC is a big one, 75 lbs or so I hear....if you just want mileage and its not for performance then you probably dont want to remove the sound insulation and other unneeded aesthetics, just make sure your KA is tuned properly i.e. timing and fuel mixture, and has good injectors, fuel pump, change your fuel filter too if it has been 30K miles or more since last filter.

our cars have about 17 gallons to the tank. From when your gauge is on Full, then goes right at empty, you still probably have 4 more gallons left. The light doesn't turn on all the way until you near around 1.5 to 2 gallons.

This is a pretty good idea by nissan, faking the driver to gas up at E, even though there's about 4 more gallons left in the tank.

So if you had 1/4 of a tank, you probably actually had 1.6/4 of a tank. :)

you wont notice a major difference in gas mileage with just weight savings, unless u take off about 3oo or so lbs. Ive got a gutted hatch (no rear seat, belts, belt harnesses, spare tire, hatch cover, jack, carpet) and i saved about 85lbs or so and didnt notice a difference. Also, the 24o tank is 15 7/8 gallons. And the a/c with all parts is only about 4o lbs or so, not 75

Try doing that with an SR.. It's no fun... No low-end + shifting low = sux. It's not that bad, but in 5th at 45 you'll be bogging, which is fine unless you want to speed up.

Remove all body panels and glass windows! They add useless weight, protection and asthetics that no one needs anyways!

8-9 more mpg, I doubt that.. Does your uncle work for them or somthing. I've talked to a bunch of people who said it did nothing for their gas.

How about some practical advice like not waiting in the drive through ever again. It's been proven that you can save gas by not waiting at your local McD's in the drive through.

I don't think a car uses all that much gas in a 5 minute drivethough idling.

No, but it doesn't but it adds up if you in the drive through everyday during lunch time.

Ya, that's true.. I only go though a drivethough maybe once or twice a week. I'm always afraid my car will overheat.

S14s are 17gal, with my KA and good gas mileage I used to be able to go like 500 miles on the highway on a single tank (running it down really low). But now I can only do about 300 :(

You want to lighten a 240? Talk to r240na. Do a lookup on all his posts. He is OCD about losing weight off the car. Phase 2 is dieting to lose weight off himself.
