im looking for a good light weight flywheel. anybody have a good used one or know where i can get a reasonably priced new one? the toda racinf and jun flywheels are a little out of my price range right now at about $500 each. thanks

well from my experience, good, and cheap dont usually go hand and hand...u get what you pay for, and if your looking for good, be prepared to pay, ya know....try fidanza if u wanna save a couple of bux...

what kind of hp increase should one see with a lightweight flywheel?

well...directly...almost none. Indirectly...well, you spool faster so you can make power earlier

take your current one to a machine shop and have them lighten and balance it. $100 for a top job. cha-ching.

lightening the stock flywheel is NOT a good/recommended idea....

so you're saying that HKS, Jun et. al. re-engineer the stock flywheel so that it's lighter than stock and just as strong, have their own casting made, and then produce them?

pretty much so. yeah. they use different designs, materials, etc.

unless you know of some other way to turn the stock flywheel into an aluminum flywheel.
