So I've got a few light scratches, and a sad little rock dent kicked up by my drivers side rear wheel, that I'd like to try and clear up (by hand). I was looking today at the Meguiars Scratch removal product at Advance. Anyone with any experience with it? Should I just get some polishing compound or try the scratch removal?

Meguires scratch x isn't bad it probably wont take out scratches tho it kind of works on swirl marks but thats about it. Not a bad product my car was swirled up and when I used it it reduced the swirls by about half. The directions on the bottel are not very good but this is how to use it(off meguires site) put it on like a wax but continue to work it untill it almost dissapers then wipe off. It has compounds that break down after working it in and thats how it is supose to remove scratches. I deffanitly recomend folowing up with the NXT 2 wax it will futher hide any scratches and swirls not remove them but deffinalty hides them pretty well.

I was about to post up a new thread, but yours is perfect.

I just bought some 3M Scratch Remover and it works great.

I have/had a few areas of body damage that I tried fixing myself. I used Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound and Polishing Compound and I think they are TOTAL CRAP. I was left with swirl marks galore no matter how much time I spent by hand and orbital.

I bough the 3M product and tried it in the parking lot. Didn't even wash the car, just dusted it off applied a small amount of the product with firm pressure (as directed), then buffed to a nice shine. I'm not sure how it will do on deeper scratches. I haven't tried it on those yet.
