I Cant figure this one out. The car runs and drives good but It just lightly bogs under heavy throtle and then SLOWLY builds rpms. I dont have any air leaks, all the necessary hoses are new, and the EGR system is gone. I've got the car timed at 20 btdc although my Idle is high because of my auto ECU. All sensors are new and working according to the FSM, TPS is 2 at Idle 10 at WOT. New fuel lines, filter, Walbro FP , injectors are good, and I've tried 3 FPRs.
It seems to me like timing is constantly having to assume itself by the ECU which of course it does but IDK? , when I look at the timing marks with a light its at 20 btdc, but moves way off under throttle, this may be normal ,I'm definitely no expert with the use of timing lights and its a cheap one with no adjustable pulse rate. But it runs like crap WOT. I"m absolutely positive its timed right and not a tooth off ,but it always seems like I have to tweak the dizzy to keep it 20deg. Im not sure whether its the auto ecu or something else.
I've been over the FSM and all its trouble shooting for years now. This one has me stumped but its always something simple with these motors. I just know it shouldn't be boging or accelerating so slow.

sorry for the book.
Ideas?

I've noticed when I test my IACV by pinching the air reglator hose from the intake it drops my engine speed, which is good and it means I dont have air leaks. I can lower it to around 800 rpms and it sounds like its running great if pinch the hose a little, it makes me wonder if it is the auto ECU, unmetered air ( somehow), or bad fuel pressure although everythings new? I dont have a fuel psi gauge so im gonna get an inline gauge soon.

BTW im using a #29 ecu , I know the old one was #28.

Anybody know whether or not the diference in the tuning could be causing the bog/ lack of power?

I know they're supposed to cause a higher idle but I also thought they were supposed to make it have MORE power through out rpms, thats not my case the car seems to be getting to much air with the high idle???

you can adjust the idle with the screw on the iacv. i have an auto ecu as well and 248/248 cams so i messed with the iacv. not sure about the bogging issue though.

I should have mentiond this earlier , I've tried the IACV it doesn't help bring the high idle down because of the auto ecu, its common. I've also heard the bogging at lower rpms around 1000-2500 is normal with a auto ecu, and thats what its doing so i guess ill just quit whinning about it. It just confused me because i've had timing issues in the past with my #28 ecu before it burned out, and it boged the same but much worse at low rpms. But its driving great, I just have a split second of timing chain rattle at idle and low rpms, which was bothering me. I cant really agree with my previous statement about a lack of power because im still breaking in my clutch and not really bringing it over 3000 rpms, I think the bogg just made me worried.

Thanks for the response though.
