The ball studs and sockets for the power liftgate struts on my 15 Rogue have rusted/worn enough that they now regularly pop out of socket. Are they serviceable/replaceable? It doesn't look like they are, but has anyone ever done it? Looks like the vehicle-mounted studs are welded on? Same for the balls on the struts themselves I guess? The sockets look worse than the ball so I'm thinking even new sockets would hold it in place.

That stuff is all available. The door-side ball studs are p/n 90457-4BA1A. The car side is part of the bracket, those are p/n 90454-4BA1D (right) and 90455-4BA1D (left).

I had the same issue with my former Chevy HHR. I was able to
find ball studs, with a threaded shank. I drilled the rusted ones
out of the brackets, and put the new ball studs in.

Example:

DRILLED THE BALL OUT:

PUT THE BALL STUD IN:

The ball studs aren't very pricey from Nissan, but the brackets are. They'll set you back $60 for the set at list price, so repairing them isn't a bad idea if you want to save a buck. If you put "ball stud bolt" into the search bar on eBay you'll get lots of hits, and McMaster-Carr has a big selection of ball studs in different sizes and threads.

Yeah, I think I got a set of four on eBay for like $4 way back then...
I still have the other two in my toolbox somewhere.

Thanks, I'll have to check the u-pick. If there are removable brackets it should be easy enough to repair them either way.
