Hey guys, I got another engine and this one looked very promising, golden color under the valve covers, still golden colored oil everywhere etc, but for some reason, all of the lifters came out of the heads extremely easily except for 4. And these 4 are stuck like hell, I've sprayed pb blaster on them and let it sit for the past two nights and they won't budge at all. Any tips?

A couple of mine were stuck too. We eventually just pulled really farking hard on them and they came out. It helps that my machine shop had a set of pliers that almost looked like they were designed for it.

try gently warming the area around the lifter...not too much heat.

well I gave it another go tonight, put the head on the ground and pulled really freaking hard, #1 came out clean. #2 the top came off, but the bottom came free. #3 and #4 just the top came off, and now I have the bottom half stuck in the head. I guess I'm going to have to attempt to weld something to them to help remove them and write these lifters off.

do like carl said and bet a butane torch from lowes or home depot and heat the head around the lifter, and stay away from the valve seals
