noticed some clacking noise at start , so I figured the lifters may be making the noise...happens infrequently but ever so often and the lifters now make a pinch more noise than before. I just did and oil change and put about 20% Marvel Mystery Oil in to see if that would help...so far no noisey starts BUT I can still hear the lifters a bit...suggestions? most tell to keep on driving and do the scheduled maintanance when appropriate.

It depends on how bad they are

I just went through this same issue. Mine was a bit different, but all the same. I tore down my engine to do a Head job, and when I went to fire it up they were all very noisey. The issue is your lifters are dirty, and you need to remove them, and disasemble them. It took me about 2 hours to remove, clean and re install all 12 lifters, and my motor is smooth and quiet once again. If you would like more details, just PM me and I will send you all the info on this. Really easy..

Thanks Doc
