Lifter not pumping up

Hi everyone,

New to the board and what a great resource this is. Yesterday, I purchased a 90 240 w/ 65,000 miles. I thoroughly checked it out, took it to my mechanic. All we could really find wrong was a engine miss at idle, likely needed plugs, wires, etc.

I went back to the dealer and bought the car. I come back later to pick it up and when I get home, I notice a lifter is ticking that definately wasn't ticking before. If I'm not mistaken, these are hydraulic and do not need adjusted, correct?
