Finally got my timing perfect now I have one more problem. I let my lifter knock go untreated for about a week now I have low compression in cyl #3. About 60 psi, what are my options

edit: engine has 107xxx and im currently running on 3 cyl due to the low comp. #3 injector tested and working, new spark plugs, and good spark coming from #3 wire

Well, seems to me that anytime an engine has crapped out on you, you have a few options...

1. swap it out.2. rebuild it.3. sell the shell and buy something else.4. find said problem and just fix said problem.5. buy a cylinder head seeing that the valve is probably where you are loosing compression.

Good luck with it.

Not sure of too many other options. Though, description is quite vague.

sorry wasnt too descriptive of the situation. cyl 3 started f***in up a few days ago like monday. i discovered oil was leaking out through the spark plug gasket into the spark plug well which was causing cyl 3 to occasionally misfire. well i changed the valve cover gasket and spark plug gasket and while i was at it changed the spark plug which caused some oil to get into the cylinder. well when i started it up it seemed fine (the leak was eliminated and a s*** load of smoke out of the exhaust and then after a few min i was back to 3 cylinders)

First need to know which engine, Second...Where did the lifter knock come from??? Is it coil over plug, or do you have a distributor with spark plug wires? If it has wires then replace wires, cap, rotor, all plugs, fule filter. Do a full tune up and use quality parts, NGK plugs/wires, Nissan cap, rotor, fuel filter, etc... That way you know its not because of old parts fouling out. If you have low compression, then there is a completely different problem that a tune up isnt gonna fix. Compression dropping in one cylinder could be a few different things. Bad rings, Valve not seating properly, blown piston, blown head gasket... When I said I needed a better description, I meant, explain the entire situation if you would like some help. A vague description of oil leaking into the spark plug hole and #3 cylinder has low compression. There has to be more to it.

found out the problem? I am getting the same thing. My SR is low compression on cyl #4, does not smoke, shakes, runs on 3 cylinders, and has a weird knock from the valvetrain... I dont know what to do
