I can't comment since I don't own a G35, but I know the law requires one, its just generally not the kind of thing you'd get pulled over for. Here is a link to some decent infohttp://www.expertlaw.com/forum...85526

I pulled the front plate off my 240 and filled in the holes, painted it out, etc and I have so far (in the 2 years I have had the car) gotten two parking infractions when I wasn't anywhere near the car, probably by an over-zealous meter maid near my school, and that has been it. I've been pulled over a few times, I have yet to get a ticket for anything, but the front plate has never came up. Don't drive like a ruh-tard and you probably will be fine. If it doesn't look like the vehicle came with a front plate, most cops won't care.

I have mine sans bracket. Texas law requires it but doesn't allow brackets. Doesn't look nice at all but they will pull you over for it here.

If brackets are allowed in CA, get a nice one! I'm also looking into getting a custom plate that blends a bit better with the black. Maybe you could try that option?

Tell them you want to put your own front plate. I bought my car near Dublin, CA.. they didn't put up the front plate, but they asked me to sign a paper that I didn't want it on...

Consider carbon fiber license plate frames. I bought them for my new G and they look sweet. Mine is black, but I think they'd look great regardless of the color. Carbon fiber is pretty sweet.

Here is a photo of my front plate taken during one of my 35 oil changes.

Some states require a front plate and others don't. NJ does!

Glad NC doesn't require it (so far). Sucks mine was in VA before so has the holes (plugged now).

But believe Stillen makes a plate bracket that screws into the tow hook threads, so therefore you don't have to put holes in the bumper. Would do that if I had to.

NY requires them too...ive had mine off for a while now and although i've been questioned about i haven't gotten a ticket so far. I do however have a bracket which is similar to what has been explained already....but mine allows you to hide the license plate under the front bumper. It probably sounds weird and i'm not sure if i'm explaining it well, but basically you can pull/slide the license plate out and it flips up for when your driving and if you want it hidden (for pictures or just cuz its ugly with it showing) you can slide it under the bumper. The holes are drilled under the bumper so you don't see anything when the plate is down/hidden. I've had this bracket for a while now but i haven't installed it yet, so i don't have much info besides this. I bought it off of somebody so i'm not sure who the manufacturer is. Only problem with it is if you bottom out it will scratch your license plate. I'll see if i can find what i did with mine (things get put in odd places when you move) and get some more info for ya.

Illegal to run without front plates in CA. If you don't drive like a prick though, and your car isn't flashy, you can probably get away with it. I ran an SR20 240 with a FMIC daily for 2 years and never had any problems.

If you're lucky, your G uses the plate adapter. My dumbass dealership drilled holes in the bumper cover. Brilliant.

Another possible way

I trimmed the plate and put it in the bra see photo.... and when I don't use the bra - it's in the trunk with the bra... incase .... so far never have been stopped without front license plate.
