License plate light

I cant seem to get my license plate light to come on anyone know if its a wire because when i bought my car i had to hook up alot of stuff because there was wire all in the console when someone ripped out a cd player

Did you check the bulbs they do blow out. If you have a voltmeter you can check to see if there is any voltage when you remove a bulb. If none there maybe a short,messy wiring could have blow them out. Also check fuses I would guess first easiest.
