im goin to florida to buy my 240. im from ohio. i need some sort of plates or temp tags to drive home. this is what i found from the florida dmv.....

"Non-residents also are eligible to secure a temporary license plate for "in-transit" purposes if they purchase a vehicle in Florida and want to drive it back home. However, proof of insurance (from Florida or home state) and sales tax in the amount required by the home state must be paid. If you feel you may be eligible for a temporary license plate, inquire through your local tax collector's office or the regional DMV office that serves your area."

i will have proof of insurace, but how is paying ohio taxes down there gonna work? do i pay it at there dmv?? im confused on how this works, if anyone has any imput i would appreciate it

legally, you have to go down there, buy the car, go back home to your local DMV, show them the proof of insurance, bill of sale, etc, and get a temp tag from them, and then go back to the car and drive it home.

A real pain in the arse if you ask me. I bought my car in MA and drove it all the way back to CT with no plates (temp or otherwise). I got a really good deal on the car and I didnt want him thinking it over while I drive 200 miles back home and then 200 back to get tags. Screw it, I just had a friend drive right behind me the whole way and I was all good.

I'm not saying thats what you SHOULD do, but it worked for me and it definetly saved me a lot of trouble.

Hhaha nice avitar by the way! Eyegor hahahahaha that movie is a CLASSIC!
