Lexus SC400

is it just me or do the S14's look similar shape and size to the lexus Sc400, i was just wondering if anyone else thought that.

Yeah, they look pretty close. I've always liked the SC400, so I love my 240

yea they look sorta similar if you mean the older SC's the new ones look more like Z's or TT's

My friend (who knows absolutly nothing about cars) told me that the gs300s from the back look like my S14...which is do to the similar tailights

Yeah the SC400s look similar, they are a lot bigger though.

i believe the first production year of the S-14 motortrend compared it to the SC400...

...by saying....well you guys are going to hate this but.....the 240sx is a good pick for a woman that can't afford the SC400.

now that is not a exact quote but i remember it being to that affect because i liked the S-14 and it just felt like they dogged it. saying it is a poor-WOMAN's SC400.

When I was rice hunting with my friend yesterday, we saw one and he thought it was a s14. they do look like them from a little ways off. In Japan they are known as the Soarer. They are pretty cool. They ae the same engine as the Supra, the 1JZ i think, but i think they also got the 2JZ engine. They look pretty good.

You were probably thinking of the SC300 which was also available witha manual.This car had a the toyota 3.0 like the Supra.

also, the v8 was only had with an automatic. the Soarer had an available 1jzgte, which is a 2.5 liter turbocharged engine. i have never seen one with a 3.0 factory, but that is not saying it does not exist. 5 speeds were only available in US bound lexi up to 95 i believe, and they are hard to find. the thinking was, who wants to pay 40 grand for a "luxury car" and have to shift it manually.

here is the fun part thought. everything mechanical from a supra bolts into the lexus. suspension, lsd, brakes, sway bars....and the wheels really set it off. a friend of mine in FL put a set of 19" blitz 03's on his sc300 (supra fitment rims) and it looks bad A.

Thanks Spectre. Yeah, i was talking about the J-Spec version. Came with the TT supra engine and also a V8. Pretty cool.

yeah, the sc400 came with the v8, 290hp and 290 torque. but it was only an auto, i would rather have the supra engine and a manual, sweet car.
