Can someone explain to mewhy Nissan would come out with a IS350 convertible when they have the SC 430 convertible already?

luxury-wise, I've been in both, and the feel about the same... same amenitites, drive comprably.. but now Lexus will have 3 convertbles out at the same time???? WTF I don't get it...

When they launched the SC 430, the were considereing creating an SC 330,but scrapped that idea... now they will have the IS 250C, IS 350C, and SC 430 C... but the SC 430 C costs more, but is slower than the IS 350C...

WTF are they thinking/doing over at LUXUS?????

Oh and to answer your question, I'm sure this is to attract new business within the upper middle class

I think the s2000 looks fantastic, even when stock.

If you drove or rode in one I doubt you'd still feel there's anything "girlie or gay" about it. That's just your own insecurities talking, it has nothing to do with the car.

... yep Lexus... that's what I meant.. just seems dumb to me to have a lower line sporty coupe out-perform your upper series sports car... I think the folks at Toyota/Lexus fired their R&D team, and hired a team of monkeys ....

Their called the Sales & Marketing group... it's like that in every industry. Example from my work:

Marketing: Let's make a can in this shape and without any beads.Engineering: We can make it in that shape but it needs beads for strength.Marketing: Ok! I will tell the customer.Customer: I like it. Just one problem, I want it in that shape but without beads.Marketing: Sure! No problem!Engineering: But we said...Marketing: Shhh, we'll make it work!Engineering: Shake heads woefully.8 months later....Engineering: Here's the shaped can.Marketing: Why does it crumple when I pick it up?Engineering: Because you didn't want to design in any sidewall beads.Customer: I don't want it anymore.

... nice.. I think its a phuck up on both Sales and Marketing as well as R&D...

the sales and marketing folks pitched the idea for the bosses... the bosses accepted it.. and the idiots at R&D didn't have the balls to say it was a dumb idea, and just followed everyone else's advice and built the damb things...

OMFG!!! That sounds exactly like where I work! Almost as good as the 5 stages of an IT project:

1. Excitement of the goal

2. Delusion of the concept

3. Search for the Guilty

4. Punishment of the Innocent

5. Praise of the non-participants
