I'm contemplating between a few suppliers, just wondering who you guys think I should go with.

1. Japan Direct Motors.- RB20DET clip shipped to my door- 2200.2.- Venus Auto- Substantially cheaper3- JGY- roughly 1800 shipped, not a clip

Anyone have any good hookups on clean RB's? I have cash in hand, lets make a deal.

I haven't heard much about Japan Direct Motors, but that's a pretty good price. Depending on where you live, a clip from Venus will be close to that ($1300 for the clip and up to $800 for shipping; I live in VA, my shipping cost $750 :()

i don't know about direct dealer from japan. you would definately save lots, if you know how to deal w/ customs. $2000 for a clip--buying from japan directly seem like on the expensive side.

i took 3 business day for my clip to arives from venus, i only paid $450 for shipping because i choose to pick mine up from a near-by terminal. try to talk to Vicky at Venus if you want good deal on shipping.

If that JGY you refered to is JGY Customs...I'd go with them, they are good guys and I've had nothing but good experiences dealing with them. I've also heard of a lot of satisfied customers who bought motors from them :)

Vickie is awesome, she got my SR20DE shipped for 93 bucks (for my nx2000). the RB20 motorset from Venus was like 300 shipped to my house with gate. the RB is very nice and was complete down to the downpipe.

J-Hot is an importer that mainly sells on ebay, but I can vouch for them. I bought an RB20 motorset from them and it was Uber complete, and they are even in my city, Agusta GA (so no shipping).

Don't buy from osaka, and definitely be wary of ebay dealers, even if you talk to them on the phone. They get the motors from other places...

I agree with you 100% about the ebay seller opinion. Only reason I bought from them is I went to their wearhgouse before hand and checked the motor out, and researched their company a bunch, to see where they get their stock from. They run out of Japan, and are very good at what they do. They also have a lot of hard-to-find items, especially for Hondas if youre into that.

Plus the price ($1000, no shipping) was right, so I went with it.

THE PROBELM WITH THE SPONSERS BESIDES MCKINNEY IS THAT THEY DON'T DEAL WITH RB20'S.... AT LEAST NOT A ON A REGUALR BASIS. IF THEY SPECIAL ORDER IT FOR YOU IT MAY TAKE A LONG TIME OR COST SUBSTANIALLY MORE THAN ANY OTHER OPTION. I WILL BUY FROM THEM WHEN I NEED SOMETHING THEY OFFER EVEN IF ITS A FEW BUCKS MORE.

If you guys must have one, I can get one for cheap; but here's the deal. No cross member and no AFM. You will get wiring harness, ecu, engine and the useful transmission. I was going to help put this one in an S13, but the owner needs the money and not the engine. If interested let me know and the price is crack head at $1200.

Go with Venus unless your rich. Paid $1300 shipped (liftgate residential) and the swap runs great, very clean engine, no problems at all. Venus is the basically the cheapest place possible to get your engines from unless you can import your own. and i havent' had any problems with the RB20 or the SR20DE i've purchased from them, and i plan to get an RB25 from em too.

just a heads up from a happy repeat customer of theirs.
