so I know the wiring process but the stupid clutch fan is the only thing standing in my way from running my AC system safely.

the first instinct was to run altima fans.... HOWEVER, I feel that cooling is something very important and for the difference in cash I would rather run flex-o-lite fans(nice compact and quality).

I was wondering which way you would go.... twin 12" fans, maybe a larger Single 14"..... not sure exactly how big I can go without being too big. Dealing with the kind of heat our CAs put out as big as I can go is what I want without having to cut things apart.

other recommendations would be more than welcome. I will be making an order or visiting a friends performance shop in the next day or two to make a purchase and would love some input.

You don't even need all that, run altima fans you will be fine, in all honesty, I run one Proform 14" fan on the factory extra tiny *** radiator, and ive never had a problem. I got the fan from jegs it was like 60 bucks. I run it on a swithc and just turn it on when i get in the car never had an issue. It gets the job done.

I run Altima fans with my Koyo and never had any problems with cooling. The flex-a-lites are nice of course and the 220 model fits quite nicely as well. I say if you have the extra money and wanted it to look cleaner go with the Flex-a-lites, but if your tight on cash then I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Altima fans either. But thats just my opinion. Good luck with your decision.

My radiator cap took a **** and started spitting water when driving and thats the result, I cleaned it, looks better.

Eventually I'll upgrade to mishimoto.

Also the Taurus fan is one of the highest flowing fans, I believe it does 3800CFM on low.

i'm running a mishimoto radiator with the flex a lite 220s. very easy to wire and set up and have had ZERO issues with overheating. works great! the FAL setup is rated at 2500 cfm.

VVVV...pardon the mess...VVVV

got a brand new radiator(friend at nissan dealership got it for me with brand new hoses for 100)

As with anything this is going to be a bit difficult to decide. the flex fans are probably the best looking option, the taurus is probably the best performer..... what size is the taurus one anyway it looks huge.

Its huge just put it that way. The only bad thing I can say about it is that it TAKES A LOT OF POWER. Start up takes like almost 40amps. When its on, Megasquirt tells me that when the fan is on my voltage goes from 13v down to 11v. Stock alternator, Odyssey PC680.

I run a Koyo with a single 16" Zirgo electric fan and thermostatic switch. I can pretty much set my temperature in any weather based on my thermostat temperature. I picked up the fan and switch for like $90 off eBay.

I used to run Altima fans, but they are very unsightly, IMHO. You have to chop the shroud, and the wiring looks funny as I ran 2 relays (one for each fan). Plus, they are bulky and used. One of mine had a bearing go bad and made this lovely noise. For the money, get a 14" or 16" Zirgo. The 16" is a little too big, but flows 3000cfm. The 14" fits perfectly (I have a local buddy that runs one) and flows like 2750cfm.

I run dual 10" Permacool pushers on my RB car, each rated at 2200 cfm and pulling approx. 10 startup amps a piece. I also use a DIF fan controller with one of the fans set to come on at 175* and the other at 185* or a/c.

This is on a SR koyo copper radiator.

One 14" Perma Cool works great......it's rated @ 2950cms, and fits behind the fan shroud. Never a cooling problem. The sensor set-up works like a champ as well........Here it is on my old ca18et.......but I've got the same set-up on my ca18det

i run a 90's ish sentra or altima radiator, and fans, had to adjust the radiatior brakets to make it fit and just wired the fans in to my accesory switch, works awesome, cost 50 bills alltogether from the junkyard, and they have two settings to play with, and during the summer i regularly take 4 hour trips in the heat with no problems, long sentence, sorry. any who cheep and bigger than the stock setup, learnt it form the folks on KA-t.org, or here i forget.

i got a question on this....my chassis is a 90 chassis...so originally a SOHC...in the 89 to 90 s13, there was a temp prob/switch (w/e u wanna call it) that hooked up to the lower radiator hose, looks like a metalic cylinder with a sensor on it...

my question is

since i still have that switch (im DOHC s14 KA currently) in my garage...

is there any way to run that sensor thru the a radiator hose as a fan switch...

in other words install that sensor...run propper wiring to fans...when car gets to certain temp...fans kick in, no fuss no on off switch...

something along these lines http://www.240sxforums.com/for...95664 but for a CA

Yeah, ive got the same Perma Cool 14' job that Keith has. It blows like a hurricane when its on, and the thermostat is nice because it allows me to set it to come on any time I want. Ive also got it set to a switch so I can turn it on and off when the car is off, in case I want to cool it down between autocross runs or something. Ive never overheated since Ive started running this thing. Ive even been so bold as to run a higher temp thermostat, just because it was $2 cheaper.

And yeah, I still use my coolant switch for various things. No reason you can't use it to fire up a fan. You just need to check out the resistance values and how the sensor works. Its somewhere in the FSM.
