Ok, so I'm going to be in the market for some new wheels and tires soon. I haven't looked at what's out there in a LONG time. They'll be going on my 240 truck, which eventually will be all 1 color (white), and probably have a hood. It already has a front bumper back on it.

I like the look of 16s on 240s. They seem to fit the brakes nicely (which will be Z32 up front). I quite like the wheels on Greg's old vert, before he went thug life with the gold wheels.

Weight isn't a primary concern, but I don't want lead bricks down there either. I also don't want to pay 2 grand for a set. I'm not that cool. I'm fairly open to color ideas, but I'd like to keep it classic... either black, black and chrome, normal silver, gunmetal, or bronze. No freaky deaky tie-dye, or neon green, etc.

Aaaaaaand GO!

RIYAMZ, DAWG.

That car needs some meshies or slotted mags.

Ugh, I'd love to have my vert back in that condition. :( She was fun then.

Given the coolness of the owner, how 'bout 24" chrome wheels with spinners? :naughty:

Actually, if you're not upgrading the brakes, and keeping the exterior rice free, crazy notion, but why not use stock wheels, and make folks wonder if that pickup came from the factory? IMHO, subtle is better when it comes to wheels. The last thing I'd want to do is draw attention away from all the effort that went into making the car so unique.

Man, you're fitting in well down in the south with that rig.

Also, check out the third gen trans am wheels. It'll get more rubber and will be 16's.
There are knockoff of the wheel, too. Some gold mesh would look hot on white body.

The brakes are being upgraded to Z32 (fronts only) at some point. I have them sitting in the shop already, but the current brakes work great, so I'm not in a rush. I was thinking of doing it when I upgrade the wheels haha.
The stock wheels are in pretty horrendous shape. Brown, curbed, grooved, oxidized, etc. If I found a good deal on good condition stock ones, I guess I could just run a spacer and roll with them. I was also thinking of having 2 sets of wheels/tires. One for "job sites" (dirt/mud, etc, the stock wheels with the current all season tires), and the other just for normal on the road hauling and performance/autocross. Summer tires, high grip.

For some reason when I made that post, I didn't see Ray's and Tito's posts.

I'd REALLY prefer to keep the 4 lug hubs that are on there. Swapping to 5 lug just for better wheel selection seems like a bit of a waste to me. Maybe if 2 of my wheel bearings were bad or something I'd do it, but they aren't.

RPF1's would look great. You can pick them up pretty cheap and people usually get them with decent offsets.

Try and find a used set. If you browse CL you'll end up with a great deal sooner or later. I picked up a set of mint 18" SSR MS1's with decent staggered offsets for my S13 WAYYYYY back with Azenis 615s + neochrome lugs for $550. Looked great and 4 lug :gapteeth: Best deal I've ever gotten considering they're worth more than most 240's entirely (mine included when I had it).

16's I would go with a non-chrome look. 17's are decent if you want more tire - Rota or XXR would fit the bill for cheap. But honestly, try and score a pair of legit wheels. It's worth spending the additional cash on. If you want some beaters, go with some 5zigen fn01rc's. They're everywhere and look good in almost any size.

Or you could be super baller like Greg when he had his vert with the Weds Kranze Cerebus.

I like where AZ89 took this, that older aftermarket look is where it's at for your S13. How about a set of Advan SA3Rs, or a set of Wats?

Find and refurbish an old set of BBS wheels. Classy, timeless, not gaudy.
