So im getting the new KA in, and the 5 lug with the z32 TT wheels, and some tein springs i picked up for $75then im saving up some more to get a new head unit, and new speakers since im rocking the oem tape deck and 2 working paper speakers in the back

so im gonna fall inlove with my car all over again, but after that, once i get a job, i found a place that will do my tints for $100 with a life time warrenty, and not only to tints look really good, but when you live in florida and you park your car out in the sun, the inside gets hot as ****!

plus its nice to have that privacy when you need it

Anyways, i want somthing dark enough to keep the temps down, and give me privacy when i want it, so people cant see inside the car

but at the same time, the darker it is, the harder it is to see outside. Ive been in a car with 20% tints, and it was kinda a biznitch to see outiside at night time

Im thinking right now 20% in the back, and the two rear quarter windows, and then somewhere between 25-35% up front, which will give me a good balance of what i want

anyways, post up pictures of your car if you have tint

just make sure you include- what percentage- any comments about visibility (in or out)

private eyes brand I believe, 20% chrome to black.I wasn't too dark to see at night and it was noticeably darker and cooler during the day too. I did the tint myself, no creases, no bubbles and really resistant to scratches.it help GREATLY to take the door panels off and the panels around the quarter glass. Not too hard to do if you put a little effort, first time ever doing tint and its still pretty sweet to look at. The police however demanded i take off the tint on the driver and passenger side. i did not get around to doing the rear window yet since I messed up one of the defroster lines on the glass when I installed the speakers. I am actually thinking of going straight black.

want some in my back window badly, being one of the lowest cars around, even at stock height, the headlights from the azzhats behind me hit me right in the eyes. A lot of redneck around here and their big trucks are the biggest culprits of the blinding light.

hahaha

Im considering 20 all around, but i just checked my states laws for tints on this website: http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/

Front Side Windows Must allow more than 28% of light in. Back Side Windows Must allow more than 15% of light in. Rear Window Must allow more than 15% of light in.

So i guess i cant do 20% on the doors, but how do you like 20% at night? Is it a ***** to see out? Any pictures? I think i can probably get away with 25%

Since i can do darker than 20 in the back (i thought that was the legal limit), i might do 15 (or 16 i guess lol), if its not gonna be too hard to see out

Do you think 35 is dark enough? In the closeup pic it looks just dark enough, but in the pic bellow it, it almost looks like theres no tint

Do you think youd have the same problem backing up with 16% tint in the back instead of 5?

thank you to everyone posting in here

do 20% all around, its the perfect balance of seeing out decently at night and shielding you from everything during the day.

It is a metallic blue on the bottom then it fades to a dark blue on top.

When it finally got lined up correctly it looked bomb-digity. Sorry i dont have pictures of it from a higher view if you want some i will take some tomm when the sun is out.

it is 15% all the way around. in the lightest areas of the tint.( basically where a cop would test it is at its lightest color. )

The reflective part of the tint was used to make an eyebrow. Comes down 6 inches in that pic, I had to hack it down in front of a cop to 3 inches because they count the bloody inch that you don't even SEE on the windshield form the inside of the car where the adhesive crap is. So now it looks nasty but i did not want a ticket.

I usually drive with my front windows down. Unless its raining. At night from the Sides you will find yourself double and triple checking your blind spots if you have your windows up.

Now one awesome thing about it is here in Texas there are a large number of trucks and lifted trucks so headlights will ALWAYS be in your rear windshield. But with dark tint it does not piss you off, especially if you are lowered.

pfft, laws

as far as i know, 20% all around is pretty illegal here in tn but i've been running it for years. been pulled over once for speeding on the interstate (70 in a 55, thanks construction/no signs/not from there) and the cop didn't say anything about the tint. it was also at night!

most cops probably don't care as long as you're not a 2 door car cruising about with 5% tint all around. or if they're just plain strict in your area, but they're sure as **** not here

35 front and 20 back. it's perfect if you don't want the cops to bother you but i'm sure they'll still pull you over if they want. in NY it must be 70% up front but GTFO might as well not bother with it.

so far i have never gotten pulled over for it, probably helps my car is also a dark color so it doesn't stand out as much. i wish i went 20 all around it would look cleaner and better in the summer but 35/20 is a good combination.

My Tints Are Insane.Guessing The Previous Owner Was Albino...

Like %5 All Around Except The Windshield.

Since My A/c Only Works At Night, Always Roll With The Windows Down.

Edit: Why Not Do It Yourself?

Don't do the tint by yourself if you have NEVER done it before.

If you like your car looking clean don't. I have never seen ANYONE install tint on their first time and be happy with the outcome.

It is very tedious and annoying dealing with the crap and then getting the cuts perfect are not a joke. Only way i recommend doing it yourself is if you are going to REMOVE the windows from the doors. Windshield's are easy so are quarter windows. the freakin door windows are lame as s-word haha.

Now i dunno about on a 240 because the door windows are frame-less so it is prolly not that hard but on most framed windows its a bizzotch.

Gotta go to work now....

Ghasty

I've got 5% all the way around. It's almost impossible to see out at night. I have 20% on my truck and it just wasn't quite dark enough for me. Doing the tint by yourself really isn't that bad. Get yourself a squeegee and a razor blade. The only trouble i had was on the rear window, which I now have to redo. Just cut the pieces into maybe 4 inch thick strips and do it like that.

Do not tint yourself. It's not as easy as it looks for a first timer.

I'd go on about how I hate super dark tints, but this isn't really the place. I had 20% all around and got pulled over pretty quickly.

Alright sounds good

Im not sure why, but my rear defrost doesnt work. Im guessing its just some stupid easy electrical fix, but if it ends up being the unit, ill take yours if you end up removing it?

thatd be a sick *** picture if you were a little bit closer to the car

Any more pics? My friend has 30 all around on his GTI and i just remember thinking it wasnt dark enough for me cuse i could see straight through the back window from far away

Im wondering what 20% will look like on the rear

Even tho that website says has to be lighter than 15%, some dude whos a cop on sfldrifters says it can be 5% in the back if as long as you have mirrors

So im thinking, maybe 15 in the back might be good

Im still trying to decide between 20 and 25 on the front doors

and its legal to tint the windows in NYC? wtf lol Here its illegal other than that top part, but even if it was legal, why the hell would you tint the front window unless its like over 80%

id rather be able to see

I don't have a problem with it, its pretty nice. Its pretty light during to the day, but just dark enough for people to not know who you are. At night its really dark haha As for backing out, i don't really think it'll make a difference.

Well this is how well you can see through 35% at level with the car, not looking down into a black interior. I've got 20% on the rear to help cut down on glare from the rearview at night.

thats a perfect picture, even the same color as mine haha

Is the rear quarter windows 20% too? or did you mean back as literally only the back window
