i recently bought an exhaust off ebay and realized that it is freaking huge. i dont really like the big coffee can type of mufflers but this was what came on it. it is 2 3/4 stainless steel pipe with 2 pre-mufflers on it. what do premufflers do exactly? just quiet it down more? i plan on replacing the huge 4 1/2" can to a dual tip magnaflow muffler to get the more stock apperance. anyone wanna share some pics of their exhaust?

i know it's 3in piping and i'm guessing the opening is 4 inches not sure havent' measured but looks like it..

Wild_Maxx, do you realise that in the first picture your exhaust looks more like some sort of cannon than a car exhaust?

I would post up mine but there is nothing to post. Stock exhaust with one tip missing.

its to keep his bumper clean of the soot. if the miffler is too close to the bumper. your bumper will get black around it because of the soot from the engine

Loveless, come on man. You're supposed to know stuff like that

But yeah, as said above, it just protects the bumper. It serves MORE of a purpose on turbo cars (richness, hotas$ exhaust from turbo). Ive seen a few burnt/blackend bumpers on wrx's.

wildmax is that the megan exhaust. i think it looks nice. you dont see too many canisters not angled on a 240. ill post...iv posted pics all day

It sees about 14 miles a week, maybe. The only place I drive is to work(pictured) where I spend Sunday cleaning it and trying to repair the neglect from previous owners..

If you think it sticks out too far, what about putting it on a bandsaw and cutting a little off. Ever figure out the brand?

nope i dont know the brand. but i am going to have it replaced with my magnaflow muffler. i like the dual tips more anyway. i finished up installing it tonight in the freaking rain but it was worth it. altho it is kinda quiet. that ok cause i live with a COP! now i have to go out and re-tune it some more. i was just running a DP.

thing on the left is the nasty crush bent loud *** thing that was on the car when i bought it. on the right is the 3" nismo i put on, the tip is like 4". the tip is actually higher up now since i cut off the tow hook. the bumper sits right on top of it and is starting to melt a little.

my ground clearance roxxors.
