iam ruling out a rod knock. since it's emnation from the timing cover.

i got new oem timing tensioner and idler pulley. didn't have time to pull it off yet but will tomorrow.

i was tapping on the timing cog trying to get it off so maybe i did move it(doubt it).

Sounds like a valve slapping the piston. Idk.

Have you pulled the valve cover yet?

I would agree with this. Sounds like my sohc when a valve was hitting the piston. Or possibly a dry lifter..

Step one would be remove Valve cover and look to see if anything looks out of order.
