I got ty's old motor all ready to go, doing the ol switcharoo tomorrow, I got 8 hours to do it haha, and I pray to god it runs, or I'll go balistic!

Yup, that'll work. I'd have probably pulled the trans anyway, but that'll work the way you're doing it too.
