maybe not by your standards. but just like the Onevia can I have my Skymera? Just because a company didn't call a car something, doesn't mean it isn't.

TrueSlide wrote:As of recent months here at NICO, I(maybe others) have noticed the recent misinformation floating around, so I would like to set some things straight(other feel free to add stuff).

1. No one cares about your 'dori dori' the tight 'dorifto' you did in the rain at a stoplight and the imaginary 900hp sr20det you plan on swapping in for extreme 'dori dori'.

2. It is drifting, majority of us live in america, please use english. 'Dori dori' and 'dorifto' are not english words.

3. The followin applys: Their is a 180sx, a Silvia, a 240sx and a sileigthy. Onevia just sounds gay, please stop it.

4. Superstreet/Import Tuner/<insert mag here> does not make up for a FSM. We dont care if they claimed 50hp from a intake, exhaust and a tacky paintjob.

5. A SR was not gods gift to the Nissan community. Please, stop with the comparisons also. The KA24, the CA18 and the SR20 are all fine motors and do their job well, get you from point A to point B.

6. Inital D is not a driver training video. It is a cartoon!

7. All this "JDM" tyteness should stop, maybe if lived in japan and/or hung out with a group of 12 year olds, someone might care.

8. The 240 was made for secretaries.. you didn't make the drift scene and neither did your friend so stop claiming it.

9. You probley work at <insert fast food here>, you wont afford that sr with 1200hp that does backflips. Lets all be realistic.

10. Just because the car is rwd, doesnt mean you need a wing, its a 240, its not that fast.

11. APC sponsors FWD only, badaging your car is worthless.

12. Left foot braking is NOT a shifting technique.

13. Stop bragging cause u beat a stock SI in a drag race, they are slow and you are too.

14. Yes, a ferrari is faster then a skyline, believe it or not.

I just wanted to clear up some of the misinformation I have heard/seen floating around.

NOTE: Thanks to Racin da 240 for thoughts #6, 8, 10, 11, 13

If the only purpose of having a car is to get from point A to point B, you wouldnt be here...

jdmfreak- The answer to your question is whether anyone elses opinions matter. I think TS was fine saying his opinions, his only fault was pretending some of them (the onevia, in particular) was fact. Not to mention some of his opinions came off as a bit condescending...

hadokenny- Not sure if you are trying to be sarcastic or something, but Nissan did actually make about 400 or so badged Sileighty after they witnessed the trend of racers replacing the front of 180SX with Silvia because it was cheaper than the pop up front when it got damaged.

http://www.silvia.hl.com.au/im...3.jpg

And this interesting tidbit..."To separate the SilEighty from the botch jobs made at home Nissan added 24bhp through hotter cams and ecu tweeks. The suspension was modified, resulting in a very hard rear setup to snap oversteer to enable drifting through series of tight turns. The rarity value of a Drift car from the factory, and the Initial D series hightening awareness, ensure the SilEighty carries a premium selling for around the same price as an R32 Skyline GTR"

I havent figured out why people argue about what a car is called and stuff. Personally I know my car is a 240sx, which to me is the American version aka 180sx/silvia/sileighty/onevia. Although I have the sr20det swap and rear 180sx garnish, I still refer to it as a 240sx.Unless you bought it off the assembly line,or totally original model, you cant call any piece together car anything except what it was originally made to be!

I like 240SX. It is sexy. I pick up sister from school in sexy car. So much sexiness that it overflows and I must catch the excess sexiness with my man-chest....mmmmmm.........

Onesileightivia. WERD! The ultimate 240sx/180sx/Sileighty/Silvia/S13/thingamabobber :)

I don't care what you call your car. Just make it clear that it is your personal reference to your car, because in the end, it says 240SX on the pink slip.

Furthermore, I know what is technically what, but some things can be reasonably named another thing. For example, if your 240SX coupe has a Silvia front, badges, SR20DET, then it is as good as a Silvia in my book even though it doesnt have the stupid nitty gritty details like RHD or VIN#'s blah blah blah.

His point is that he sileighty DOES exist as a JDM car manufactured by nissan or nismo or whoever the heck made it...the onevia doesn't

I just want to say thanks to my fellow NICO member for getting me thru these desperate times of need... i want to thank tukami for teaching that i should always keep my foot on the gas when intiating a drift at 80kph.. i wanna thank japan junkyards for pulling out god from dead cars and sending them to the U.S. for newbies to buy.. i also wanna thank my fellow APC friends.. if it wasn't for you.. JDM spec freashners wouldn't have been invented... and last but not least.. to my mom for buying me an evo and the entire Initial D series... and for not being mad that i wrapped the car the next day around a tree cuz i tried drifting a 4wd car in a residential neighborhood becuz takumi said it can be done.....

Hey, there is nothing wrong with Initial D, I have the whole series, its great! Of course I don't learn anything from it, but it is still fun to watch. If anyone did try learn anything from it, they would probably die.

The only reason a Sileighty exists from Nissan is because it existed before and was popular so Nissan decided to do that from the factory. Great company =)

I plan on putting a silvia front on my hatch with a KA-T, so I call it a Silforty. I think thats a fairly logical choice.

And this point is completely hollow. The design & name of the "SilEighty" came from the public. Exactly like the name OneVia.

So you are saying that Sil-Eightys are real because Nissan heard some kids call it that, built one and made a badge?

but One-Vias arent because nissan called them the "240sx Coupe" EDIT: unless you are in japan.. where it would be a SILvia with a ONEeight face.

TrueSlide,

You know there are many decaffeinated brands on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing.

Just an FYI.
