So I know most of you aren't into show cars, etc.. however I'm sure you all have your own approach to building a car. Wether your a "cheaper is better" kinda guy who hinges on every deal made and every used part found at a great price or a JDM nut who has to have everything accurate down to the steering wheel.

Whats your thoughts/styles that influence you? I mean what kinda things do you draw from? Do you pour over issues of Options and Drift Tengoku? Do you have ebay up 24/7? I'm just curious... It's interesting to see where people get their ideas from when building a car. It is after all, no matter what you do, an extension of your personality and style. I personally draw from alot of places... I'm a big car guy first and foremost. So I find myself looking at traditional designs found on hot rods and lead sleds. I also love bikes... with that said I kinda found my "inspiration" for the coupe project..

I generally just go with my gut. I don't think that I have a classifiable style. I can just tell right off the bat when I see something, whether I want it for my car or not.

Yeah, I dont have any real style either...my girlfriend says the car practically embodies me though. It's kinda rugged/dirty on the outside, but its got a lot more to it than is readily apparent. My car has no exterior modifications, but under the hood its got some crazyness going on. I like the sleeper look and couldn't give two rats asses what's JDM etc, its all about what will work well for my application. The car is a street car made to tear it up at the strip and suprise a few people. I doubt it'll ever grow into a autox or road race car.

Cheap, subtle and fast. Which is odd because alot of the cars I dig online are pretty extroverted.

= Nicest 200 ever IMO. Not the best pic of it, but I can't find the real good ones of it.

Id have to go with gut feeling as well. I like body kits and such, but not that cheap ****. I like to get great deals and all, but paying the extra dollar for quality is more important IMO. Also I dont really care for throwing endless amount of$ for JDM stuff on any cars I want, but I do have an appreciation for the cars that are done right.

i got all of Best Motoring DVDs, GRIP, some Option and Drift Tegoku, i'm into ultimate street cars (Mines R34 whooooo hooo), that can Drag , Drift, circuit and touge, and i can still turn on the AC and take my girl out for a night of partying or take a run up the mountian roads to the beach with her long blonde hair blowing out the window, and not have her complaining about the ride is too stiff, or the car is too loud, everything is rattleing, no AC, no music, i want a complete car that i can use everyday that is safe and comfortable to drive and be a passenger in.

then i realise that i have built a loud, fast, rough car that smells like race fuel when you got the AC on and windows up, lol. but my girl loves it so i cant complain.

i didnt even bother to primer mine, im rocking the krylon gloss black and ive got a few random screws and bolts holding on the body panels.

if it looked nice i would be even more paranoid about people breaking into it. im bad enough as it is...

I tend to go for a more subdle look. I like long and lean and low, so that is why I did things like shave my spolier and began a hunt for a zenki lip. As far as wheels go, I like no bigger than 16s and no skinnier than 6.5 and bronze or black. JDM stuff is a BIG + for me. I like clean lines and factory stuff.

for my 510 i like the "hey, you just scratched my car, now i have to take the pins out of the pain in the *** fiberglass trunk lid so i can get the damn can of spraypaint out", or me:"hey dont lean on my fender" someone else "its spray paint, im not gonna scratch it", me: "no, i just dont want you to get tetnis"

for the 240, its gonna be clean and shiny and jdm looking and have a trailer hitch. its got a truck motor, i might as well tow the 510 with it, right?

lol, I hope you're joking, the 240's frame can't handle towing another car, even if the motor can put out enough torque to do it, also the car's not heavy enough for towing, the trailer will turn the car no the other way around...

I wish it was possible or I'd put a hitch on mine :D

i never said a trailer. if you use a tow dolly or a tow bar, there wont be much weight on the 240. im talking short distances to and from the track, not a cross country road trip.
