Well as many of you probably know, St.Louis received about 10 inches of snow today. Just 2 days ago it was in the mid 70's. Being nice as it was i let the top down on the stang and enjoyed most of the day. Until the clutch went out. No biggie, i'll get it fixed this weekend. In the meantime i had to drive the M to work. Now i've heard from other posts that people said the M does bad in the snow. This car outright SUUUUUCKS !!!! At first i thought maybe it was the tires. But i rememberd when i bought the car the tires had about 500 miles on them. Since then i've probably put about 5000 miles on the car. Well it's not the tires. Driving down the highway at a meagerly 25mph so that i don't put the car into a guardrail or another car, i was being passed by any and everything. I swear i saw a guy with a dog sled wave as he was passing. As i pulled up in my driveway, i became stuck in the snow, it will be there until the morning. I found it difficult to get out of the seat. Well apparently as i was driving, i was clinching the butt muscles a little too hard. So it 3 firemen, 2 paramedics and the jaws of life to remove the seat.

You need snow tires for sure!

Necessary for any high-powered RWD car in the snow ... summer tires (even all-season) just do not work well at below, or near, freezing temperatures.

Experience helps too! I've been driving in the New England winters for over 20 years. My M was just fine in the snow. We had a few storms this winter and I never got stuck or spun out in my M.

Yeah the weather was horrible here. I didn't even attempt to go out. I got about 7.5in here. Also my M is horrible in the snow, but I need new tires. Everyone stay safe out there!

Seeing that St.Louis on the average only gets about 10in of snow the whole winter(not in one day), just in case i will definately be picking up a set of snow tires. I'm not planning on driving the M in the snow, but as you can tell, you never know.

I had trouble in the snow too. That is until I bought a set of new tires with a QX4 attached to them. Now, no problems at all.
