1. Never buy cheap parts. I bought some Cheaper Coilovers on some bad adivce and ended up snapping the shocks. So I replaced them with the coilovers I orignally was goin to buy. Cost of that Lesson 800+ dollars.

2. When you do get new parts put them on right away. Why? Cuz Driving around on broken shocks sucks. It was embarrassing driving other people around (esp. very hot blonde women who are into you). I had My TEIN coilovers for almost a month before I put them on. Cost of that Lesson some dignity and points with the ladies.

3. When planning on upgrades think way ahead of things that might go wrong. So far I have snapped 3 wheel studs (snapped the 3rd 20 mins ago). So when I put my rims on I should have gotten the extended NISMO studs at the same time. Cost of that Lesson time and a little cash since I have now replaced 3 studs, and am now going to replace them all with NISMO studs.

[/QUOTE]1.)Hot exhaust/cat is really hot, and will make your skin look like its melting...even if you just tap your hand against it...

2.)Safety glasses, although they look lame, are key when looking up and working under your dirty car...

3.)When using compressed air to blow the pistons out of an automatic transmission case, put a block of wood over the end, cause those pistons will take a head off....

4a)When popping the accumulators out of an auto transmission by compressing the spring and letting the small piston shoot out make sure you cover the tiny hole next to it with a shop town or ATF fluid will shoot out 10-15 feet...4b) ATF stains....

5.) watch were the fingers of your left hand are when using a hammer with the right....

Some lessons Ive had demonstrated either by me or by friends...

I learned the same leason. Never buy cheap! Especially those 19" rims which sell with tires for only $800 bucks. Lucky I was able to sell them 6 months later and only took a $100 dollar cut.

I am currently looking at which battery to buy.... was this thread a sign from God? That I shouldn't cheap out and buy something other than red top?

if your sitting in the back of a cop car that has a hard plastic seat, DO NOT LEAN BACK...it will tighten the cuff's and leave marks on your wrist for a week.

This is true. Also, that warning about not parking over dry grass when the car's been running for a while... good advice.

Lessons learned:

+ Hasty modding always costs 150% of what you originally budget for.+ Use second gear (not first) when push-starting your car.+ NEVER THROW OUT YOUR SPARE AND JACK.

Temporary fixes aren't perminate so fix them right because it sucks getting strained or breaking at the worst times.

Modded cars break more so have a back up or a back up plan.
