it's hard to find a decent chassis for that price, if you do, buy it! and the lemons race isn't abotu being fast, it's about going the distance
most fo the cars you find at a lemons race aren't real fast, they handle well and survive! the 240z is a good candidate if you can find a suitable chassis thats solid enough yet not worth saving as a lemons car is subject to randon destruction
I rather like a ford excort 1.9 as a leons car, plenticul, cheap, easy to work on, even sparcely stocked parts stores in remote locations stock most repair parts, try locating a new calliper or wheel cylinder for a 240z when one majically fails, also it's a good idea if there is a second hole car
lightweight cars that use small tires are ideal as their race tires are cheaper and the reduced weight means longer tire life
also fuel efficiency is an issue, with the 240z, more fuel consumption means more stops, and the solid rotors and rear drums are gonna be an issue once the heat begins to build
I totally want to do a lemons car but too many project and not enough space
