Well I actually got my 240 today. Its a 90 with 127k. The first time I drove it I thought it was great, but now that I have it, I'm finding out more and more little crap that needs fixing for it to satisfy me. Maybe my wanting a 240 so bad blurred my vision. So I've decided I'll take a few days to fix all the little s*** before I register it or buy anything for it(other than stuff to fix it). Here's the list of whats wrong. If you have any input as to how I should go about fixing it, let me know. Thanks in advance.1) Pop up headlight motors. Hopefully find these at a junkyard for like 20(?) apiece...2) Sticky throttle/gas pedal. Clean throttle body and lube the pedal joint. 3) Seats stick out too far in the lower back area. I'm told you can just bend the springs and that will fix this.4) Worst interior fabric ever. Who came up with this crap. Ugly and doesn't feel nice either. I will be removing the fabric from the doors and maybe getting some seat covers...5) Previous owner painted interior pieces white(interior console, vents, door handle area, etc.) and it looks like crap. Sand it down and paint it black again I guess. The rest of the interior needs a little work and some cleaning here and there too.6) Worst tint job ever. Door window tint doesn't even go all the way to the edge. Crappy fake tint film on rear hatch, bubbling. Anyone know how to remove this???7) Fart can exhaust. Even sounds retarded with silencer. Have stock exhaust, will have to pay to have that done...8) Shift boot old and falling apart, shift knob a ***** to get off, no biggie there though. Got a nice feeling knob from my other car, guess I'll have to buy a boot. 9) Crappy design of hatch/gas tank release. If I pull up or push down it doesn't spring back into place, I have to push it to the level position myself. 10) Stock radio, speakers, etc. Crap, crap, crap. 4x6s suck, will have to do some custom fabrication. This will be my first "mod" if after I fix all this other stuff I'm satisfied. Installing a nice stereo system. 11) Not the nice looking 7(?) spoke alloys, the older ones with many small holes(not steelies tho). Getting some nice 17s (I like Enkei rs6s or motegi mr7s) will prolly be the next mod. Either that or suspension. I'll keep the stocks for winter.12) Look into getting a paint job...Depending on how much it'll cost to get a nice one with a color change(I don't like white) to like metallic black or something....13) Way down the line I'll obviously sr20det swap, etc. ;) Man I've rambled on long enough, now come on and convince me I won't regret my purchase. BTW I paid 1600. It has brand new tires, pads, and rotors all around, calipers in the rear, and new alternator and battery.

Sounds like a ricer got a hold of your car. Glad to see it saved. The 7 spoke alloy wheels werent available until 91 IIRC. Which fabric do you have? The tweed or the soft gray cloth? :batman

Sorry to hear that you dislike it. I was actually happy to get it. I have seen so many s13's with the tweed. It isnt as durable though.

i do agree the interior cloth is horrable, but have you ever seen a 240 with the full leather option? :yummy if you get a hold of those seats and do custom interior fabric on the doors and glove compartment... should look real nice.

if you care anything about a car when you first get it there will always be tons of things you will nit pick at. keep on it slow and steady and make sure you keep those funds rolling in so nothing gets half assed. you have your head in the right place, sounds like you saved it from ghetto ricedom, congrats :pimp

Thanks for the input so far. The only thing I don't know how to do is get the crappy fake tint off of my hatch. Does anyone have any ideas?

Define Fake tint. If its just crappy tint use tint remover, or amonia and a razor blade. Be very carful though if your rear defroster still works. I'd hate to see a good defroster get messed up cause it was cut with a razor. Have you tried to pull the tint off with your hands? If you can get it started pull it off real slowly then use the amonia, or tint remover to get rid of the residue. Windex has ammonia in it.

Yeah be very careful with the defrost lines. If you so much as touch one with a razor blade, it won't work any more. I learned this the hard way.:(Also, you can get a very nice shift boot right from the sticky on the 240sx gen. chat page. I put one in mine and it's sweet. very thick leather and any color you want. My original shift boot was ratty too when I got my car.

4x6's aren't that bad actually. I had that size in the back of my probe and just bought some infinity plate speakers. they sound VERY nice for the size and bump out very good bass. I think you will be surprised if you get the plate speakers.
