If those are the bulbs they're sending you, they don't look like HID's.

he says "the fillaments..." hid bulbs dont have fillaments. they have thousands of volts arcing through the gas inside the bulb across a gap. thats why hid kits have to have transformers to up the voltage

how many volts 240kid? its an inert gas w/ballast that is ignited. like you said, not conventional bulbs with filament, but not thousands of volts going across. the transformers and such are to ignited and keep the current flowing. i HIGHLY doubt its thousands, seeing as how power plants put out that much and they need BIG transformers to take care of it.

Its about 25k volts, the ballast takes care of making that much power. Think step up transformer in your car.

it also depends on the kind. D2 HIDs dont need the super high voltage, D1s do. the internal ballast in a D2 keeps the voltage low. D1s are in the kilovolt range, around 20 or so.

If I could find a nice hid kit for popups, I'd do it. I really don't have the money right now for a bodystyle conversion.

Taka Kara has a popup conversion. its a sealed beam headlamp with the HID instead of a halogen. lemme find the link.

EDIT: i dunno if this was the one i saw a few months ago, cause i think that one had the headlamps AND the ballasts, but this one is good for H4 lights. so, i guess do the H4 conversion with the Bosch kit and you should be able to use this.
