Has anyone out there know of or purchased a motor from a guy out in Cali by the name of Mike Tran? He has posted a few times in the 240sx org classifieds and has awesome prices but I just dont want to get screwed.

I saw his ad on there too..the link was http://www.craigslist.org/sby/car/11090110.html ..I e-mailed him a couple times to get some info, his deals do sound awesome..someone should really drop by and check out his stuff to make sure..

Mke Tran isnt that the name of the guy from Fast and the Furious, the one that drove the S2000.

i have talked to this guy he seems cool and he is based out of northern cali (san jose)i am in the proccess of buying an engine from him i'm kinda sketch on him so i am not to sure yet.if i pull thruogh i'll let ya'll know

i have been talking to this guy for a couple weeks-the only downside that i have seen is that i have to pick up the clip at a port-if he will take visa than i am going to order it.

well, i was going to get my sr-then the transmission in my van went out-hopefully i can get it ordered in the next 6 mos. is there anyone else who can verify this guy?

everytime i talk to him about taking visa-he goes off about a bank to bank transfer. i called my bank and they said that if i send $$ to his account and he stiffs me-im screwed, with the visa they give me 60 days to dispute-in case the engine doesnt come in. so, right now im waithing for some companies to get back with shiping costs

I wouldldn't do that bank-to-bank thing if he's a private seller, it's simply not worth it. But if this deal does go well, let us know. I'm maybe 45 mins out of San Jose and I will be looking for a SR as soon as I get a 240.

yeah, i've been talking to him also, he sent me pics of some of the front clips and responds quickly to my emails. I live in san jose and he says he lives in santa clara which is basically right next to eachother, im gonna ask to meet him before i make the deal.
