I have been readin all over the internet about what it takes to get a skyline over here and legal. I must say that its a bunch of BULL. I personally think that motorex is a pos ripp off. I wish someone would have the gutts and money to NOT let motorex be like the only people to legalize. I cant believe that it cost that much.

AND...why the hell hasnt NISSAN got their **** together and said WOW....we should try the skyline and silvia in the US....I mean god damn that pisses me off to no end....ITS like a feeling of, I have been deprived of sex for years.... without the skyline being around. For real....this really aggravates me. I dont want the fukin maxima or altima.....I WANT SKYLINE AND SILVIA.....arrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!

I must breath .......so i will settle with a 240sx wit a rb25det wit mods. and ill put a conversion and better suspension on it as well......Im NOT at all sayin the 240sx is bad....its just sloppy seconds for us in the states..........so frustrated....lol

Sloppy seconds eh. I don't think so. Do you see any Cobra's, Vipers or Z06's in Japan? We just want to be different and are having to pay for it. Americans, for the most part, want muscle. And that translates directly into cubic inches and straight line dynamics.

Well not to mnetion that both the Skyline as you knw it and Silvi aas you know are dead. SO technically we HAVE a skyline. No silvia, but there is a Skyline. BUt most peopel cant get it out of there head that if the RB isnt in it, it isnt a Skyline. Besides more goes into bringing a car besides few enthusiasts complaining. Looking at the power and capability of say the GTr. How many people who complain about the GTR not being here would actually get one??? Peopel should stop being so bran loyal. The WRX and Evo both provide GTR capability. Turbo from the factory and AWD. The enthusiasts on the boards only make up a FRACTION of the car buying public. Motorex IS a rip but hey they are selling skylines so someone is happy.

Well....after seeing what overseas gets and knowing what we get. I have to say that the last year Skyline is prolly the best lookin car. IMO of course. When i was a kid i wanted a camaro or firebird or mustang. NOW that im am grown up.....lol IMO....I DREAM of Skyline. I know we got vettes and vipers but they use ungodly amounts of gas....and have VERY high Insurance cost. Even tho nissan did give us the 300zxtt....ty nissan.....and have brought back the ZZZZZZZZZ......why wouldnt they make a stab at a skyline body over here?

Yeah it odes, but hey...we are finally on the same path thus far as the Japanese are to my knowledge with the Skyline..only as an Inifiniti. It will be interestng to see if we get a GTR version when the Japanese do.

Ummm, yes you do see Vipers, Z06's and Cobras in Japan... As well as F-bodys (There are alot of them), American Muscle cars, and Harleys. You will also see 996s, M3s, A4s, AMG E55s, you might even find an Opel. If you have never been to Japan, don't speak as though you have. There ARE European and US car dealers there. The difference is that the Viper is not the 'Dodge Viper' its the 'Chrysler Viper'. All Mopars are sold under the Chrysler name. There are even US cars that you never seen before such as the Ford KA (sub-compact) and the Ford Galaxie (A mini van) how about the Chevrolet Cruze or the MW? Bolth are sub-compacts. The Corvette, which you can buy from any Chevrolet dealer costs 7,980,000 yen for a 50th convertable. There are also Cadillac dealers in Japan... A Deville down the streets of Japan? You think that sounds weird, wait till you see a 1963 Impala on 20s with hydrolics...

Ahh so very true... I imagine that he is one of the Stupid Street magazine readers... I'll gladly take my copy of Option 2... Although somehow rice is making its way over to Japan, there is a huge article on 2 Slow 2 Curious in the Oct. issue of Option 2.

laterl g's on a skid pad. just because its a skyline does't mean that its the worlds best car. People are way to brand loyal nowadays, and dont look at raw performance. Dont get me wrong i love a skyline to but theres always somthing better. And for the comment about gas and insurance. If you want big power out of a foced induced car you gas mileage will suffer and if your under 25 and want a real sports car either import"300zx,supra" or domestics "corvette, mustang" its going to cost you a arm and a leg.

You have to look at the big picture, Silvia would have been poor selling over here no matter what you say or think, look at the 240sx its US conterpart it was such a crappy sales car for them in 97-98 they had to pull production for US, we (USA) were in a ugly large car buying faze when the 240sx was released and hrough its US tour the simple fact for Nissan was the car doesnt sell, the turbo motor will make it to costly for the US and wont pass federal standards for smog and crash testing in Japanese trim. Skyline on the other hand was also in the same situation that they were not in a market for screaming rocket car and plus their "fast-sports" car was the 300zx which again had POOR sales and was pulled off the market after slowly moving off showroom floors. Nissan did the smart thing and stepped back and said WOW our "sports" cars in US Suck with sales(thats all that matter to all manufactures) we should let them run out and then pull them when they are done. The Skyline again does not / did not pass federal laws for glass, headlights, taillights, tires, smog, and many other federal B.S such as crash testing.Motorex charges Alot for their converted cars but you need to understand a few things it cost them a few million yes MILLION dollars to start this whole Skyline importation and they are gonna need to get their moneys worth while they can cause now they have to compete with people bring in clips and stuffing the motors in 240sx's and whatnot. Motorex has put up alot of time and money and effort they had to Destroy and crash test the skyline to allow them on our shores, they replace all underbumper beams with ones that meet federal standards, they replace the gla$$ they replace headlights and alot of other things go into each Skyline they bring in and sell to you and me. I now have a better feeling about them after learning more about the importing of JDM cars that I do with business partner, we have to bond and put up alot of money even for our wrecked cars or half cuts to come in just so the Feds know we arent screwing them and driving our WRX STi's EVO's Skylines or Silvia's on the street! Im sorry to inform you but there is No leagal way to drive a skyline except through Motorex or that other new company that is tied in with them any way!

Cheers, Jon
