Since its technically not legal to have these wonderful engines in your US 240sx, could the police use information on this bulliten board and any faqs posted to track some of us down and fine the hell out of us?

Once Im ready to do a rb swap, I was planning on trying to film it to do a step by step video or something. But I remembered that guy that got busted for selling videos of him driving 200mph down the interstate in his Ferrari.

Basically I think a how-to video with maybe some documentation would be great for the rb swap group. But I dont want to get payed a visit by the Austin Police Department with their ticket book in hand.

I saw on Austrailia Skyline message board that some police were taking license plates off the pictures and using them to bust people whom had illegal exhaust and other stuff.

You could always go with the standard "race only" disclaimer, and not have tags on the vehicle in the shots for the video. You might still get harassed though.

Any thoughts?

There are about 20 turbo 240s in Austin alone.

Vkoslak -- please do the document on your DRAG RACING ONLY 240SX.

As long as your documenting an OFF ROAD USE ONLY vehicle... not an issue.

When I lived in Europe, things were much different. My "registration paper" specified the optional wheel & tire sizes... Yes, your vehicle could be impounded due to have "incorrect size wheels" on it (safety issue with Autobahn speeds involved).

As long as you install that engine, and trailer the vehicle to the drag strip, and drop in the stock motor before going back on the street... no problem! (we used to keep a stock rotary for my Mazda for annual smog inspections in California... )

Oh... nice thing about getting old and getting a little gray in the hair. I was clocked on radar doing 95 in my old Datsun. Uh oh... cop just looked at me, the car, and kept shaking his radar unit wondering how he got such an odd reading (posted 55 at the time).

Mightymouse...there are quite a few SR's in dallas but so far I cant think of an CA's except me...GoofyATX has a CA and he is in austin...and mine is sitting in the garage on an engine stand so its not exactly up and running yet :) I dont know of any RB's in dallas (although I'm not really into the car scene here) but I would love to see one!
