I just got pulled over tonight, about 30 minutes ago, at the races (street) for waiting in line, well not really in line cause no one wanted to race so i was the only one sitting there. so the cops pull me over, look all around my car and just takes my liscense and insurance, then comes back with 2 tickets, one for stalling traffic, and one for no front plates. does anyone else notice a mistake? i might be wrong, but arent they supposed to tell you what they pulled you ever for before they even go back to their car? ive heard this a few times, so i was just wondering if anybody knows. i got enough tickets as it is. i appreciate any advice.

Nope, your screwed and consider yourself lucky, they could of charged for alot more :) Just for being at street races you can be charged w/ aiding and abeting, and if you participate in a race, they will get ya for racing, but they can get you for alot of other stuff, like endangerment of life, wreckless driving, aiding and abetting, eluding(if you run). So consider yourself lucky, a front license plate ticket wont hurt your insurance, so take it like a man and just pay it.

dude, say that you're engine stalled or that you heard street racing was goin on so you were being EXTRA cautious as not to be mistaken for a street racer. Also you were afraid of being hit. As for the front liscense plate, say you hadnt noticed and it must have been stolen @ a gas station of something

You're in the USA, where people can get away with murder. Fight it in court, chances are you'll win.

fight it man or at least goto court an plead no contest its way cheaper then just mailing in the full fines !!! plus the cop might not even show an then they have no choice but to dismiss your case, always goto court an go before a judge it will be cheaper even if you plead no contest or guilty.

pleading guilty = admitting guilt pleading no contest = that you dont say your guilty but the court will find you guilty base on the evidence.

This is what we do in TX.. Get a lawyer plead No Contest in City Court then go to County Court with it This takes it out of City (City doesn't get the money) Usually takes a year to go to court and the cop doesn't show or in county they will ajudicate it and it doesn't go on your record. Either way it doesn't go on your record. Find yourself a traffic court attorney....:thumbup

JUST PAY IT??? where were you people born, into communism? fight it!

postpone your court date as many times as you can, i think its twice, but do it at least once, better chance the cop wont show. good luck, i have a front license plate ticket coming in the mail any day now, cop gave me a 50 ticket, not a work order, lame. i plan on going to court and telling the judge i was having bumper work done to my car, which i was, cop was being a **** too. then i plan on registering my car at my second address in pennsilvania where u dont need a front plate, no emissions either.

Get a lawyer! License plate is not big thing but stalling traffic, probably insurance will go up (if it has check in the traffic box on da top of the ticket) if it's not juss pay for it. I had a three speeding tickets but I bought a lawyer and dismissed my case. If ur insurance goes up because of stalling traffic ticket then, get a lawyer.

those are both minor dinky little tickets....being that you were at the street races makes it harder to fight. i've had friends that were smacked with a ticket and weren't even racing and lost in court. from my experience in traffic court you are GUILTY until proven INNOCENT. and remember it is your word against the cops?

i think your best shot is to plead no contest, kiss the a.d.a.'s and the judge's ***. tell them your friend talked you into going down there, and you were nervous and didn't want to get hit, you were waiting for cars to pull out, whatever make up some excuse as to why you were parked in the street. put your lisense plate back on, make them aware that it's on. chances are the judge will drop one of the charges, hopefully the stopping traffic one......no points for no license plate.

the other reason not to plead "not guilty" and fight the ticket....cops have memories, they'll remember you. and if they ever catch you again they will make sure to make a bigger ticket stick. better to take the dinky ones and fight another day when you NEED to.

if it were a bigger charge it might have diff. advice.

good luck

good luck. i was racing a cop one time and got a ticket for 475 dollars. i didn't know he was a cop he was in a camaro, MA sucks. anyways the cop didn't show to the appeal. i told the judge my car didn't go that fast and i was only going 90 so he dropped the ticket to 90 ( thier was no way in hell i was gonna get it totally dropped ) so i ended up just paying for that , i think it came to 180 something. but it was alot better than 475. the whole point is know when you are beat and defend what you can.
