what is special about this inner tie rod tool u speak of? im planning on using a cesent wrench, possibly with an extension on it to get it off easier. and is this is normal tool that can befound at an autozone/kragen/wherever?

thats what i did this morning...i think i scared the inner tie rod with the torrent of other tools i whipped out(giant wrenches, rubber mallets, ballpeen hammers, torches) ...it worked the firt time with the cresent wrench...ha ha ha. i actually did hve to use the torch to loosen up the out end to get it off the inner rod.but THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE HELPFUL HINTS. i'll try to post up a picture of my wickedly bent inner tie rod.

if you loosen the nut that's backed right up against the outer tie rod, the tie rod end turns pretty readily.
