In my 95 Q45, there is a neat feature that automatically makes the mirror "look downwards" a bit when the car is put into reverse. However, it seems to be intermittent. It works once, then seems to stop working for the next 20 or 30 "put into reverse" operations, and then works again once! And so on ...

I have satisfied myself that I am the only driver during one of these events, did not touch the seat memory buttons at all (let them do the automatic seat move functions every time) and did not move the mirror either. But it still happened?

Any thoughts as to what might be causing this?

First make sure the switch to select left/right is set to the mirror you want to operate. If the switch is in the off position both mirrors will not move. Also there is a bulletin for an updated Body Control Module you would have to check the original part # with Consult to make sure it needs updating.
