left front speaker making unbearable noise

hey guys, today I was driving home and out of nowhere my front left speaker starts making this unbearable high pitched squealing noise at full volume. I have a jvc reciever that came with the car when I bought it last year. i tried turning down the sound and nothing happened, music went away but the sound was still there just as loud as before. this has never happened before today, sometimes the speakers would make a loud pop once or twice then it would go away, but today it went full retard. anyone know what could be up? it rained today so i'm thinking maybe some water leaked somewhere? If anyone could give some insight that would be great.

It is possible that some water got past your Window seal and dripped on your speaker. Just my thought. try taking off your door panel and see what's going on inside there
