I think they are illegal during driving, but I've seen them around the American Indian reservations.

Hey adidas Its a different coast man. can't argue with it

to be honest, I think the red ac with the body mods might pull it off, as long as its not just two tubes on either side. and the pro kit will help im sure.

Sure I can! Just saying, underglow is a pepboys ricer special, period.
Mr_Coupe wrote:Well my friend adidas are they played out or something over there?
its not just here haha. I grew up in Virginia and when I left there 3 years ago, they were played out then! Its a simple addition many ricers do to draw attention to there cars. Please dont do it bro. I love your car, this would degrade it in my eyes.

Your electric know how will need to consist of, splicing a few wires together, and putting a switch inside. The ability to use zip ties is also a crucial skill

Not sure about other states, but they are definitely illegal to have on while driving here in washington. As for the look....well....there is something to be said about it being black as sin out at night and having that classic glow coming from underneath the car. I've seen a few up here running around the city's and i must say, they do impress. Just don't get caught.

I used to have them on my old car, and they looked really nice and clean (it was a dark gray Mazda6 with green neon tubes) because the tubes weren't bright, but more of a subtle glow. To be completely honest, I knew that when I got mine they were played out, but it was one of those things that I always wanted and I just wasn't going to feel that my car was complete without them (as stupid as that sounds).

I got pulled over one night coming back from a girlfriend's house and he just told me to turn them off when I was on public roads, but by that time I was tired of them for the most part.

It was always funny though, I live in SC were they are illegal but I live about 20 min from GA where they are legal, so every time crossing the line it would be a little joke to cut them on at the state sign.

Long story short, if you want them, get them. Just be sure you can't actually see the tubes (or led bars).

not a fan of the neon/led strip.....even on the east coast where its not as common. but find the right setup and it will look good...i saw a picture of underbody lights but it wasnt a strip it was bulbs apart and it produced white circles on the ground, cant explain it too well but it was fresh.

You should do it. I agree that G looks pretty cool.

And worst case scenario is if they ricey or stupid you don't have to turn them on.

I think you should do it.. I have some on mine and I love how it looks. And I hooked mine up to a fog light remote that you can get from most part stores so yu dont even have to get in to turn them off and on. Its pretty sweet. Finding a place to mount them is pretty rough though.

Even though I'm totally against the lights. The new STILLEN rockers are hollow and have a lip on the inside that the lights would mount perfectly in

I had two sets of underbody lights on my old NIssan 200sx... I loved them... but, according to the public, they are played out... I wish they weren't because I still like the way they look!

PA Law states you can have any lights you want on when parked/not moving as long as you are not close to a road, etc where you may be distracting other drivers. Probably doesn't help you, but I have yet to hear about a state that allows you to drive with the underbody kit illuminated-- its a huge distraction to other drivers.

However, I must admit, that I too am a fan of the underbody LEDs...

My fourteen year old daughter LOVES these things....she keeps on beggin me to put them on. They are a bit on the y side, but all I remember is the first time I saw them on a Plymouth Laser Turbo (back in Highschool...1990ish) Looked pretty sweet back then....we'll see though, maybe I'll put them on when I give her the car in 3yrs.

I had them on my spyder back in high school. They did look good then, but when I get out here in the real car scene, and im not back in Sticks, VA, they seem a little on the childish (look at me) side

they do add an effect that you cant match with anything else.. fairly cheap... but if i did dig the look still (not sure yet)... i dont get enough airtime to use it... id be ansy and wind up driving with it and getting tickets... if it were legal... id have it in a heartbeat.

It's 100% completely legal LBC...when you have it switched OFF

This all comes down to personal taste...If it were me, I would probably rock them but only turn them on at car shows or car cruises. Just to add a little bit more "wow factor."

I don't think I would drive all around town with them on all the time. That's a little too flashy for my tastes. I like things to be clean and luxurious.

I went to the L.A. Hot Import Nights on Saturday and just about every car had some sort of underglow or underhood lights...They looked cool in the show, but I think they would look kind of silly if they were on 100% of the time.

Not that it matters but my verdict is to get them, rock them proud...and enjoy driving your car however you want to. At the end of the day you're the one payin' the bills and sitting behind the steering wheel. Who cares what everyone else thinks!

Good luck with electricity at HIN. They make you disconnect your battery and hook up everything to a power inverter then a wall outlet in the building
