Hey guys ...

I got an extra set of LED License plate bulbs so I gave them to my brother who has an SE-R.
Now when I changed out all my interior and exterior bulbs to LED's the swap was simple. Removing my license plate covers for the bulbs was easy, and I was able to replace the regular bulbs with LED ones.

Well yesterday we tried really hard to remove the covers from his 09 SE-R. What a pain. We tried unscrewing it, and after we did the plastic cover still would not come through the hole to allow us to change the bulb.

Is there an easier way to do this? The manual offers no assistance at all. Do you need to access this through the interior of the trunk? If so, how do you remove the black panel under the trunk and put it back without breaking off any clips?

Thanks for the help!

yeah interior i believe of its the same as my 2.0. the clips are a little tricky but with a screwdriver for leverage and attention to detail you'll get it. breaking the clips isnt the end of the world either, i broke a few but the panel still stayed.

Ok ... Thank you. That's what others have said. We will have to try to pry the clips out gently.
I know when we took the clips out of my trunk to put the trunk net in, that the originals were hard to take out but they never broke. Hopefully they don't break on us ... We'll give it a shot and see !

Thanks :)

Ok so yesterday I changed the in cabin filter for my brother, while he worked on removing the clips from the trunk liner.

After he got most of them out (and did not break any :D) we took the license plate bulb out. One of the new LED bulbs in the package is not working at all. We even tried it in my Versa, and it was a no go ... :( So right now he has one led bulb and one regular bulb.

When both are working I will take a pic to post here. The led's look much nicer than the stock yellow looking bulbs.

LEDs don't normally go bad too often. I would suggest turning the bulb around which I'm sure you probably did and the second is to pull the 2 wires around the led out a little, sometimes they don't make proper contact with the connectors in the bulb housing. You can also test the LED with normal 9V battery that you might have in your house to make sure it's dead.

We even tried the bulb in my Versa, and it still didn't work. I'm pretty sure it's not working because the second we tried the next bulb, it came on right away.

So far it looks good, lol ... just need the other bulb to match!
