Is there a walkthrough or step-by-step picture guide available for replacing stock lighting with LEDs? I wasn't able to find one.

I replaced the dome lighting with blue-ish LED bulbs, it looks pretty good. That was easy, I just used a screwdriver and popped out the plastic light covers (although one of them doesn't press as smoothly into on/off positions as it used to..!).

I bought a bunch of other LEDs, I think they are the right size for inside the glove compartment, the backseat lighting, trunk, and license plate... These all seem a bit harder to get at though. Any suggestions?

thx!

the trunk bulb is easy, just use ur finger a pop it out. The license plate you'll need to remove the carpetting on the trunk and you can access it thru there ..... glove box is a pain. I haven't seen anyone do it on here. You don't use it much aniway so

i dont think there should be a need for a step-by-step walkthrough for changing out interior light bulbs. All you need to know is the what type of bulb, which there is a sticky bulb thread for that. I mean how hard can it be???? all you need is a small flat-head screwdriver and small cloth. as far as for the license plate light bulbs, take out the the carpet cover thing and twist the bulb counterclockwise to take the bulb out. There are a few threads relating to changing out interior lights + license plate light. Do a SEARCH! It is meaningful to have step-by-step guides on more challenging stuff like how to remove bumpers, install springs, install hids, etc.

This is getting f**king ridiculous, it is common sense people!!!

If you can pump gas, you can change your bulbs. For the interior dome and steps, just pry the covers off, remove old bulb and replace with LED. For trunk you just remove carpet lining inside trunk which is held with about 8 retaining clips. Access the back of the plate area from inside the trunk, remove old bulb by twisting counter-clock and replacing with LED in reverse. That's it. To actually take pics of the process would be a waste of time.

On the side note - did anyone change glovebox bulb yet? That's the only bulbs in my car that's not led. I've been told to not even bother with it since it's the biggest pita, but maybe someone did it already and can share hints on how to do it the easier way??

Getting to the light is no problem, however you can't remove it! you have to either yank it out or melt the housing to get the bulb out, then after that if you want to replace it with an LED, you have to mod the LED bulb. It requires soldering of the led contacts to the wiring in the glove box and then to get the new led to fit, again you have to find some way to get that bulb to fit into a hole that's smaller than the LED. Someone did a write on up on this a while ago, it may have been on another forum though

Don't bother fellas, it's a pain for a light you see only when you're reaching for your registration when getting a ticket!

actually i took mine out with a pair of needle nose pliers and a soft cloth and just barely pulled on it and got it out to take it to the auto parts store and check the bulb type....... but the didnt know so i just put it back.

hmmm. i'm not sure about that now. haha. i meant if it would fit through that weird casing in the step light. you know how it's like extra support for the bulb.

i'm sorry to ask this question again but here it is. how can i replace my license plate lights? i took off the rug thing and got to these things:[IMG][/IMG]

i tried turning them counter clockwise, clockwise, and just pulling them out, but they dont budge. also, what lights do you recommend? flank leds or ones that point straight down?

yeah those are what you want to pull out. you have to turn them. just grab onto that grey part and turn it, it should be counterclockwise one quarter turn. most replace them with straight pointing bulbs, the flank bulbs can apparently burn out if they're left on for long periods at a time, so flanks are better for something like the door courtesey lights.

so go with either a 4xled or more, or go for those high power aluminum bulbs.

it won't break, just use a little more strength. I didn't do any research when i tried to replace mine and tried to pull really hard straight out, and it didn't work, but it didn't break too, and i was pulling on it really hard too...

also, try these 5 led from vled
