Hey Freddie,
Which bulbs are you using for the turn signals?

I don't remember as I did them about 2yrs ago.

but they are the oem type bulb with maybe 24 smd (on each bulb) led's in white. I think I had to remove the tail light to install them.

Wow, those fit? Didn't think there was enough room for those. A resistor should not be hard to install as I don't care for the hyper flash, I like things s-l-o-w LOL.

hyper flash happens only when you use the turn signal (which I like very much). using the emergency lights flash normal.

the problem with using resistor is that they run too hot!!!

The hazards do not have the hyper flash because it is a balanced load with all the lights flashing. Yes, the resistors do run hot, that is their function. There are ways to minimize that though.

look at fender vents in hyper flash mode:

.
only way to keep heat down on resistors is to mount them on metal, I had to install 6 of them in my last BMW because of cel light on dash. I try my very best not to use them anymore.

it does actually, i was surprised myself, I also have them in my front turn signals as well, they almost touch the clear housing so i am pretty happy with it, plus its in a large area so it wont overheat as bad, My front turn signals have a about an inch gap between the clear housing and the tip of the bulb.

My car will be LED out, till i can clear out the side markers - bought some 06-07 side markers cause its not one stupid assembly on the 08+

Just remove the inside liner of the trunk lid.
Takes less than 5 minutes total.

No need to take off the interior, if you open your trunk, next to your assembly you will see a plastic piece, normally body color matched. You pop that off to access the bolts, be careful as the plastic piece has clips when you pull them off, you might break them.

screw off the bolts to access the assembly, once you have those bolts off, there are clips behind the assembly as well. all you have to do is pull it off.

Once assembly off, twist off the cap for the turn signals, you will see the bulb, twist to unlock. Once you unlock it, you may want to look in the hole of the assembly to see if the cable is tucked underneath anything (mine was, letting you know from my experience) Grab a thin screwdriver or whatever you can find to untuck it to give you some slack. Once you have enough slack you can pull out the bulb, swap and then reverse back to normal. ( i didn't tuck the cable back it, didn't care to)

You can do that... or you can just undo the clips on the trunk lid liner and access the bulbs directly.
No bolts to remove or chances of breaking any clips. Take your pick, both methods work.
