Anyone know where I can find a DIY on how to install LEDs for my footwell? I'm hoping to learn where I can connect the wires to so they can either a) Come on while my headlights are on or b) Come on when I open the doors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the little plates that you can see when you open the door. The SL's say Versa...and the others are just plain I believe.

If so I think I might be able to help you!

Probably talking about LED lights under the dash, not the kickplates.

Aftermarket or the OEM interior accent lighting kit from Nissan?

I was using some aftermarket L.E.D lights. They're Pilot CZ-2048. I just need a good source to tap 12V red/black wires. I was thinking of somehow tapping them into the glove compartment light wires if they're suitable unless someone knows a better place?

I have these in my car and I had a wire running to my amp in the back so I used that to tap into. But if you were wanting them to turn on when your door is open shouldn't you connect them to one of those fuses?

Your glovebox light doesn't always have it's power. So if your glovebox is closed your light shouldn't turn on, if it's opened than they should turn on. Right?

Also it is really hard to get the light mounted on the front passenger side because there is really like no room to mount it because the glovebox takes up the whole area.

Good luck.Let me know how it goes and if you need any help.

Of course pictures when your done.

The glove compartment lights come on whenever your headlights are on. I took the glove compartment out and tested it lol. I believe I'll be tapping into it tomorrow. I'm gonna guess black is negative and green is positive. I'm hoping it's 12V and will work properly.

It might not have enough power to power all the lights but you can give it a try. Thats weird that the glovebox light is on even when your glovebox is closed. lol

Good luck!

You can get the little LED lights at any stereo shop generally. I bought 4 tubes that have about 20-30 LED lights in them so it accents more of a color and it's more noticable.

You cab also order some online. I ordered LED underglow, interior kit, and wheel well kit off of Street Glow and it was only like $120 shipped.

Yeah you can wire them to do both.

If you want them to turn on as soon as you turn the car on than all you have to do is connect the power wire to something that runs power whenever your car is on (can use the fuse box). Also you can do the same thing with having them turn on with your headlights. Just look for something that powers on with your headlights

What you are talking about are the kick plates (also known as door sills to some). And the SL's do not all come with the aluminum ones, that is an extra option. My fully loaded SL came with black plastic ones, and I just purchased the aluminum Versa ones to install. They do not light up.

I think maybe the original poster was referring to the interior accent lighting that another member mentioned.
