Could someone please tell me if these LED fog lights would literally just be plug in replacements for my 06 M35? I'm not sure if they will get too hot or if there is enough room for heat sinks, etc. Although, I believe from research that HID fogs are way hotter, and I know people on here are running HIDs. Thanks!

Particularly, could someone advise me on the part that says "Not for use with headlights with dust caps"?

Have you looked at these: http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/fog-ligh ... og-n2.html

I installed them last winter and both like the look and the light output. If you want true foglights, you can buy the yellow film and install it yourself.

So I need to do this instead of just getting the bulb replacements that I showed there?

LED's are fine for the fog lights, but I would recommend AGAINST running LED's in the headlight. Their output just isn't the same. It might look bright to the naked eye, but the lumens can't compete not to mention that usually LED lights are two sided or three-sided which means you're not getting even spread of the lights. Stick to proper HID bulbs from TheRetrofitSource.com in the headlight (many of us are running the Osram CBI if I recall which are great).

That is if you have HID lights stock (D2S). Pull your car up next to an older halogen-for-sure car and compare...if your's are much whiter, you're HID. If they are similar/yellowish, you're non-HID and will need an HID kit to upgrade to HID.

While this isn't an M, look at the comparison of a proper HID bulb compared to a 4-sided LED bulb on my 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R. As you can see, the LED lights were virtually useless and the HID light provided a much clearer, even spread of light in the ZX6R halogen projector (not far from design of the M projector).

Ok, my car is WAY whiter than the lights in my dad's GMC Yukon, so I guess I have HID. So then I would only need to buy replacement HID bulbs and not the whole setup? And thanks for the LED HID comparison.. will definitely not be going LED low beam after that.

Yes, just get D2S bulbs (such as the Osram's) from TheRetrofitSource.com and call it a day. Stick to 4300k (OEM like yours) to 6000k (slight hint of blue but mostly white). I prefer 6000k myself.

Ok I will look for 6000k because that is what I want. I seem to be getting a lot of 5500 and 6500 k options, of which I want neither lol. But that seems to be morimoto, so hopefully osram can do it. I think they are like $275 on that site, so not too bad

If you can get 5500k, do it. That's a really nice color.
