Has anybody done or seen them since this last post

I'm curious if he was the only one with the light output issue? Might have been the brand/model? I find it odd because my interior led are damn near blinding. I'd prefer to go led route rather than hid for the longevity if the output is at least comparable to factory...hopefully as good as hid.

If you're wanting to do led fogs, you'd have to look into getting new assemblies the light built in (such as piaas, etc) and replace the stock fog housings. I've yet to hear of or come across a drop in led bulb that provided any output comparable to incandescents, let alone hid light. Hopefully this helps you. Good luck with whatever you decide. Keep us posted.

I got these purely for cosmetic reasons. This will not replace output for the regular halogen bulbs.

I took these off before I lemoned my car and I can sell to anyone that wants it for $25 shipped. they were quite pricey when I purchased them.

Has anyone looked into the Q50 foglights? Are they a drop in for our M's?

another route to go is getting plug and play replacement fog lights...I got mine through Hoen. I've used them on several of my cars and they last long. I have the stock HID's and vled replacement 'city lights' (it's a shade more blue than the HID headlights). The Hoen fog lights look good enough for me and they provide good visibility at night and in the fog...they've been on my car for 2.5yrs...

my extra set of Hoen fogs...

CPJ do you find those Hoens to be somewhat dim? I tried them in my Altima and took them back out because they weren't bright to my liking.

I've used Hoen bulbs on my FX35 and they do not have problems with illumination unlike the LED fogs I used for cosmetic reasons.

The Hoens produce enough good lighting...I've had them on for over two years and still going... For me, it's an easier alternative than going full HID fogs...here's a shot that I took a few nights ago. Hopefully this helps you :dblthumb:

thanks! they do well for me... it's rated at 55w.

Besides the Hoens, I've tried several other brands on my prior cars as well... here's a link that provides some good fog light replacements...

Hmmm, I think I used 35W but maybe it was 55, I have to find them and check. I may try them in the M if I can locate them. Thanks

I'm really not a fan of the other companies to be honest, my favorite setup was actually putting OEM Nissan HID headlights in my fogs, but it was somewhat blinding for oncoming traffic. Looked sweet though

Are the H11 bulbs a direct replacement for our factory bulbs that will not require anything else to replace them?

for the fog lights, yes... just remove the lower engine splash guard (some screws under the front bumper) and you can access the back of the fog light housing... simple plug and play. :bigthumb:

I assume you are referring to the plastic piece around the fog lights in the bumper? If that is all it takes that would be perfect.

Thanks

Any H11 will fit directly after you remove the existing bulb.

I had Hoen on My FX35. The color match was slightly off since FX projectors make the light a bit more orangish. My Hoens blew out after a year. After that I just went back to regular bulb. If you just want cosmetic (for color matching), LEDs are the way to go.
