Hello all,

Picked up two 12" LED strips I want to add under the headlamps.

Looking for a easy place to find a switched, 12V line up in the front.

Suggestions?

Best wishes.

Spliced mine into the park lights, it works and no switch needed in the interior.

Lookin' good, but not really DRL if they only come on with the parking lights. I want them to be on a switched 12V that comes on with the ignition, turning on the LED's any time the car is running, not just with PL's.

Don't have a schematic and was hoping someone had located a switched, 12V source somewhere near the front. Suppose I can use a pin and a test lamp and start searching :-).

Thanks for the suggestion!

Page 40 of this document:

Shows E228, a "Daytime Light Relay" as part of the Front End Module Harness. Did Nissan install this in anticipation of adding DLR's to later year Altima's ? My "08 does not have DRL's and I'm wondering if you folks with later models do have them. Before I go out and start poking around (hey, I'm a lazy guy :-) maybe someone knows if that relay even exists on my car. Sure would solve my problem.

Anyone know?

Thanks.

Stumbled upon this study during my research:

http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/Pubs/811029.pdf

Short version: no statistically significant benefit in the US. But nothing is ever simple and numerous European studies show reduction in crashes from 5-27%.

My motivation is purely cosmetic :-).

Yeah same here but I don't see why you can't go testing with a pin and test light. I think most of us with DRL's have used the parking lights.

Being the first guy to ever do this to the coupe...I agree with everyone else...splice it into your park lights and call it a day!

In these aspects, We must consider the high quality of LED strips which will help us to give more brightness while compared to the normal one.

Well I wouldn't call him first… However because of the difficulty to hook them up, I hired someone at a dealership I used to work at to do it. These are super bright, brighter than Audi LED DRLs, I keep my lights in auto mode, and when the headlights come on, these dim down.

I would. Pretty sure D built his DRL set-up and retrofit in late 2008/early 2009? I was just teasing him.
