Well as a Peterbilt parts salesman I say we overprice the LEDs we sell because of the myths around LED lighting. Truck drivers don't have time to research on the road so they buy em. I have all my LEDs from Autolumination. They are a bit pricey but totally worth it. Our gauge clusters use 194 bulbs as do our parking lights. Our high mount stop lamps use 37 bulbs. Our reverse lights are 1156, turn signals the same. The brake lights are 1157.
Here's a pic of the good style to have. Theses are brighter and have lasted a long long time.
Rule of thumb for colors. If behind an amber lens use an amber LED, same for red, green ect. It looks so much cleaner, red looks blood red when you do that.
For gauge lighting, get LEDs that have heat sinks attached.
Stay away from styles like this one, they suck. Bubble LEDs suck.
Here's my car with all LED tails using the bulb styles I showed you.
I haven't replaced the dash lights on the green truck yet. Soon.
I made this thread a while back about reverse lights on my truck.

Hope this info helps.
